Oh right.

Either way - Forever Young in there too - Cry A While returning as an encore opener....

... I hope this is indicative of what's coming and not just him throwing a few bones for the hardcore fans at the small club warm up show.

Since Basement Tapes doesn't read the Tour section, I'll do it instead:

Forever Young for Pepsi! :D

Billy....I can honestly say I had never heard it until a few mins ago on YouTube.

Assuming this is the song?

funny thing is, i don't know if i should kill myself or not over missing billy... it's actually a fairly good song. very nice... but yeah... a couple of weeks of anxiety, will probably overtake me anytime soon.
i don't think it beats d-row or VoJ though. and i'm going to liverpool, who knows what he plays there.

That's the instrumental title credits version. It was for the Pat Garrett film, so that was the theme motif.

It's actually this one (with lyrics):

Me too, but I think that may be what it is....Blind Willie and Senor were at Dallas last year but rarely, if ever, seen the rest of the year. Spring 07 fist couple of shows setlists included Man in the Long Black Coat, not to see seen again til Fall 08...... Hope they keep it up though

Great setlist. The question is...which Billy? (and who picked it in the pool?)

This is awesome. I would love to know how he decides these setlists. I mean of all the songs in his repetoire, why did he go for Billy? Gonna be pretty great to hear.

Billy 1 or Billy 4 are the only ones with lyrics, and they're both essentially the same song played two different ways.

Always thought Bob could make good use of this one these days, glad he finally thought the same!

I doubt anyone picked this in the Pool though.

No doubt they played it a 3rd way tonight, so, the big controversy will be Billy 1, Billy 4, or "New, Unexpected Song" :P

It also was a while before Mississippi showed up again. I hope that's not the case, but considering the end of last year's tour and Bob probably having ants in his pants about the new material might make him want to try different things. We'll see.

Could the playing of "Billy" be a sign of a possible Country sound to the new album? If so, it will be an awesome album! :)

I'd bet it's Billy 4 just because it has the complete lyrics though... song wise, there isn't really a difference between 1 & 4.

But let's ask Pagel to confirm - any way to verify which Billy version it was, Bill?

And for that matter... which songs did Bob play center stage on, if any? Any guitar?

So, here's my first post, since I just recently joined the board. I wonder why Bob thinks the MT-Songs are milked, when he keeps on playing the L&T-stuff. Man, you wouldn't squeeze a single drop out of these! Unless Honest hasn't changed into tango, Summer Days into slow waltz and Cry a While into anything musically interesting.

Ooops, bad start for posting, you think? Well, but true nonetheless;-)

I feel a change comin' on...
