What's next? Raisins in bagels?...

You know my friend Bob Sacamano? Well he's lived on nothing but Raisin Bagels since he was six.

hahahahahahaha I knew you hadn't seen him... you couldn't have..... if you reported the ring as big news.... that's funny. sometimes he wears one on each hand, sometimes one, and sometimes none.

I've seen him a bunch of times in the last few years and i would never have known he wears a ring. I never pay attention to that shit.

Sounds like it was a good show! Nice to see some new songs in the set. It also sounds like Charlie and Bob are enjoying playing with each other again

I was there and I concur with everything marker said. There's a new sheriff in town, boys, and his name is Charlie Sexton. The only thing I would add is that Bob's guitar playing tonight was the best I've heard from him since '02. He stood a foot away from Charlie the whole time he was on guitar, and they seemed to lock in and play off each other. My sense was that Charlie was helping Bob stay in the song, and it really worked. I just heard "Don't Think Twice" in Alpharetta this summer, and Bob sounded lost on guitar. Last night almost everything he played fit perfectly, and on "High Water" he really rocked. That's right, Bob Dylan played a rockin' guitar solo. Is Armageddon upon us?

Slow Train...seven songs center stage...Shooting Star, Nettie, and NDY...exciting new band sound...

Is it Halloween yet?? :P

Soooooo, just to throw out a monkeywrench: Change comes just days before we have Bob releasing five religious Christmas carols. Maybe it's just a welcome change from my prediction of Gotta Serve, or maybe not.

Nothing so refreshing as hearing from another Seinfeld fan.

So, Bob sang these new lyrics of Gonna?

Change my way of thinking, make myself a different set of rules.
I'm gonna change my way of thinking, make myself a different set of rules.
Gonna put my best foot forward, stop being influenced by fools.

Gonna sit at the welcome table, I'm as hungry as a horse
Sittin' at the welcome table, I'm so hungry I could eat a horse
I'm gonna revitalize my thinkin', I'm gonna let the law take its course

Jesus is coming, he's coming back to gather his jewels
Jesus is coming, he's coming back to gather his jewels
Well, we live by the golden rule: Whoever got the gold rules.

The sun is shining, ain't but one train on this track
The sun is shining, ain't but one train on this track
I'm steppin' out of the dark woods, I'm jumpin' on the monkey's back.

Yes, I'm all dressed up, going to the country dance
Said, I'm all dressed up, going to the country dance
Every day you gotta pray for guidance,
Every day you gotta give yourself a chance.

Well, there are storms out on the ocean, storms out on the mountain too
Storms on the ocean, storms out on the mountain too
O, Lord, you know I have no friend without you **)

I'll tell you something: things you never had, you'll never miss.
I'll tell you something: things you never had, you'll never miss.
Tell you something else: a great man will kill you with a sword,
a coward with a kiss.

(Was the dialogue included?)

BOB: Now, look, someone is coming up the road, boys.
(knock, knock)
MAVIS STAPLES: Hey, hey! Hey there, Bobby!
BOB: Hey, it's Mavis Staples!
MAVIS; Hey fellows! What's Up? Aw, it's good to see all of you.
My goodness, Bobby you got a nice place here!
BOB: Well, welcome to Califormia, Mavis!
MAVIS: Thank ya much! Whoa, you got a nice view!
BOB: Yeeah, it is. You can sit on this porch,
and look right straight into Ha-wa-ii.
MAVIS: Yeah, I was over in them foothills.
BOB: (perplexed) Why?
MAVIS: I was looking for me some fuel. I'm kind of hungry now.
Don't you got anything to eat?
BOB: Well I'm sure we do. Momma, we have anything to eat?
WOMAN?S VOICE: Sure, we got plenty of chicken out there in the yard.
BOB: Well we're gonna go knock a few of 'em off and fry 'em up.
BOB: Well, Mavis, I've had the blues.
MAVIS: Aw Bobby, don't tell me you got the blues!
BOB: Uh hum I've been up all night laying in bed, had insomnia, reading Snoozeweek.
MAVIS: Oh, Snoozeweek! That ain't gonna get rid of no blues.
BOB: Umh umh
MAVIS: We gotta do some singing, let's do some singing
BOB: Aw ... yeah, let's do that.
MAVIS: Sing about it, you know.

Bob speaks of Hawai'i, eating a horse, and fighting the threat of monkeys. Three things spoken of here recently. Dylan is a flippin' prophet!

To answer you question above: yes he did sing those lyrics.

He sang this part especially well:

I concur, he did sing the new lyrics. For me, opening with that song was an amazing moment for me. I love that new version and play it all the time. In fact, just an hour earlier before Bob played it live, I played the song off of my iPhone to folks who were waiting in line with me!

It was perfect, his voice was excellent, and in my mind the only thing that was missing was Mavis.

Thanks Marker, your remarks are exactly what I hoped to hear concerning Charlie's return to the fold. I'd still like to know if Charlie added any backing vocals, particularly on Change My Way of Thinking. Those old-timey harmonies they used to do were wonderful.

I thought it was Larry who did most of the backing vocals?

from stage right, Stu, Charlie, Tony, but Charlie is playing mainly in front of drums.

That's how it was in Round Rock also.

Someone tell him to move from the drums so Geooooorge can be seen on the pics !!! (OK, at least for Ontario & Beantown & NY for my Bobpals to take pics for me -pretty please, y'all ! - )
PS : Oh, Stu's still in the band ? :x Did he get better or is it still the same ol' guitar playing ?

Are you saying that a monkey is to be refered to as a "someone"? It's worse than I thought. Tell your flyin' monkey friends that I ain't buying their "I'm just a pawn in a wicked witch's game so forgive me and be my friend" propaganda.
