Expecting Rain

I just came across one of the 94 Roseland concerts, but it could have been any other, I'm afraid. Ok, the voice have changed a little since then, the band members differ and the set list isn't the same as it is nowadays.
But nevertheless I'm pretty sure that many if not all of them who walked out this autumn would have done the same if they'd attended this concert. For all that they have complained about now was exactly the same 17 years back, rearranging the songs so they could not have been recognized and whatever it was said about Bob's performance.

I just wanted to say this.

A lot of the rumours of walkouts are due to "churning". This happens especially with double header tours where the fans of the first artist simply move away from the front of the stage and fans of the second artist move in, but perceive crowd movement as leaving. A more reliable indicator of walk outs is what's happening in the tiered rows. On this indicator I didn't see people leaving in droves.... they said folks left the religious concerts of 1979/80 in droves, but folks I know who were there insist that this didn't happen in great numbers. I do remember the NME reporting walk outs in 1981 (Earls Court) ~ but I attended 4 of those shows and didn't see it.
