Does anyone know why the intro to the gigs is not on anymore? I loved it, it was so exciting hearing that voice and him coming on. Hope it comes back.

Some people need no introduction.

Maybe, but the introduction is really exciting and suits the show great.

I don't mind it if they stop doing the introduction. It seems as if they're changing the show up a bit. I liked how the band starts playing and when the song begins Bob just walks on to the stage. Without his hat on! It changes things up a bit.

Maybe they'll have some shows with introduction and some without. That would be good.

The intro was fun but he's been doing it for what... ten years? If its time is done, no great loss.... I like the looser feel of the way the band rolls into action now.

If it's a sign of more change-ups to come, so much the better... variety is the.... you know....

He left it in Brazil somewhere earlier this year (thankfully)

And there is a longer thread about it in general discussions too. I will look for it.

Thank good it's gone. The long one since summer 2002 and before the short one since 1992.
See he changes every 10 years.
Looking forward to 10 years guitar noodeling by Stu!

1990 till Europe 1992 it was mainly spoken in the countries language. That was fun.

Love the guy, real nice fellah, but can't bear the thought of 10 years of a Bob-harnessed Stu.

What was better than tapers including this intro:"We'd like to remind you that recording devices are NOT permitting during tonight's performance..."

I'm glad this intro is gone, it overstayed it's welcome by years for me.

The no intro is nice. Classy too. Energetic feeling. No bullshit. Come out and play. I loved that about the Dead in the day. Just walk out strap in and knock 'em down!

just listened to a recent show that still had the intro - and it's interested, but stu is doing that guitar lick stuff behind the scenes of the Al Santos speech too. so he's been doing a version of what he's doing now for a while.

Maybe he had enough of being introduced as a former drug addict and has-been....
