I LOVE this :) if I didn't enjoy the version 46 years later it wouldn't trouble me. I just feel blessed to have a wider span of enjoyment.

I'm seeing this live again next week and I'm excited. It's a nice feeling. 8)

She Belongs To Me done a la ModBob. Yawntastic.

Song used to be a classic ode to witchy woman. Now its Tramadol for the ears.

Oh, and the voice cant even cope with such a simple lytic and rhythm, swallowing words and all. Like a glass of curdled milk and gravel.

Maybe have a break from listening to current Bob, Bennyboy — I sense you aren't enjoying it..

Not upset Tim, just tired and bored to death with the swirl of negativity that's all. Sorry to associate your name with contributing to the whining, but as I cringingly opened your post there it was again. FYI, I don't view you as the expert that decides appropriate timing between lines and the decider of which songs are "ruined". Nothing personal, but I'll decide for myself, thank you.

Absolutely brilliant! I genuinely 'laughed out loud'. The sad thing is I prefer this to Bob's awful version posted above. It's one thing losing vocal range, and even the ability to genuinely convey emotion, etc etc but his timing is so completely and utterly unmusical that it renders the song unlistenable. If that performance really is being singled out as a highlight of this tour then...I'm lost for words. Much like Bob when attempting to 'sing' this song.

I heard Bob play this 6-7 ago in Orlando, and it was terrific. This is not. It's also a little over the top for tellme66 to post a you tube link of Bob performing it in the mid 60's to show how poor this version is. It simply not a fair comparison. He needn't have gone back nearly that far to find wonderful performances of this song. Which makes this one even more difficult to admire. I also understand that it bothers many when someone posts a video of current Bob in performance, such as this, for members to enjoy, and then some come and throw a wet blanket on it. However...the gushing, and talk of how great the performance is (I'm not just speaking of this specific video), and how it is art...when it simply is not...invites critical and sometime's harsh responses..as much as a downer for some as that may be.

That's because his performances are subjective. Because someone says it sucks does not make it so (and I'm sure vice versa). However, the harsh reviews seem more like an attempt to tell others they have some nerve for having a different opinion. I believe people feel they need to defend themselves.

i dont see what so terrible about it, its pretty similar to most of the NET versions. nice waltzy groove by the band and a nice soulful gruff bob vocal. i can understand every syllable and it was recorded with a phone with terrible mics. a good tape should be killer.

the worst shows i saw from bob was around 2005 and 2006 where the band he had was unsynchronized. i would say the more recent shows ive seen and these current shows are 100 percent better.

what do people want that we should join an anti bob cult? where you spend your life listening, reading, thinking, posting, associating with the very thing you dislike the most?

Hi Boston. Yeah, you're right that it's subjective...albeit, difficult to understand, at times. I think the negative responses are fine, as that's part of a forum. Anything posted, is fair game for criticism. I also understand that the negative responses tend to be harsher than they may need to be. Some go out of their way to completely trash the performances. There's probably a better way for those people to state an opposing point of view. I guess the over the top gushing and blind worship, makes it difficult for some to not come back...guns blazing. I don't think it's the best way to go about it...and I've been guilty of it myself, from time to time. Sometime's it's difficult to hold back.

this i dont get, that gushing reviews makes it difficult to not come back firing. why should gushing reviews upset anyone who is a bob dylan fan in a bob dylan forum.(unless of course, they aint bob fans) upset them so much to come out firing. i mean, it makes no sense.

to be fair, the people who don't enjoy bob's live show now feel much the same way; in the end i couldn't control the fact that i didn't enjoy bob's singing and therefore couldn't enjoy the show, but i felt like i had to justify this to people. this isn't really fair, either.

i think both sides could use some restraint and civility

I'm too tired to offer a detailed response. Gushing reviews are fine. So...are opposing viewpoints by those who see it quite differently. The dissenters could do it in a softer manner...but the very nature of gushing posts...invites strong responses. Right or wrong...that's the way it is. That's pretty obvious.

the gushing reviews and the harsh reviews are not the problem.

the problem is when people on either side decide to condemn others based on their viewpoints. though everybody is guilty of this from time to time, it's completely unfair and should be avoided at all costs.

personally with all due civility and social graces, curtsy and the like, i think if you didnt like a bob dylan show the last place you should be at is at bob dylan forum. and, the last concert you should choose to attend after the horrible bob dylan show is another bob dylan show.

but obviously this is too simple minded. im sure there is some convoluted reason why people who hate bob should hang at the bob forum, go to bob shows and buy bob records.

Not necessarily. I think everyone here likes Bob. I've never doubted it. Some don't like his live performances; some do.
