Have you ever regretted buying presale tickets from bobdylan.com? Do they offer many great seats or should I wait for the general public ticket-sale date?

Also, how much time passes between the start of Mark Knopfler's set and the start of Dylan's? I'd like to see Knopfler, but I might not be able to make it to the venue by the 7PM showtime.

Thanks.

He used to play a bit over an hour here last year, then they had 15-20 minutes to change over the stage and set up for Bob.

About the tickets, I never bought from bd.com, but for the European tour last year, mk.com offered fan tickets. You don't get to know your exact seat location when you buy, but they guaranteed a seat within the first four rows. All you had to do was sign up on his website. You'd have to check if they do that this tour. I bought my GA tickets from them since they allowed early entry. No huge inflated prices either, just a small fee per ticket.

i bought via mk.com for the dublin show because it was seated and they had like a 3-day pre-sale. they guaranteed a nice spot, and i was actually on the 3rd row, but on the end of it, behind of a huge amp.
after that experience i dont think is worth it buying pre-sale, mostly because you dont know where you'll end up sitting, but maybe in a different venue you can try.

I dunno if "regret" is the word. I haven't always gotten great seats from it, but at least I know I have a ticket & one less thing to worry about.

But my perspective is likely different than most. After 15 years of on-&-off back problems, I don't need to be on the floor, standing all night.

I kinda have the same question. Has anyone ever bought presale tickets and then had better seats go on sale for the regular sale time?

I would like to know what people think too. I am going to try buying tickets but I don't know yet if I'll be able to get presale.

It's about comfortability with risk and hassle. You can always get good tix, but you never know for sure when. If the wanted or sought-after location isn't available in the presale then I don't just buy. I wait. Buying for the simple sake of having a ticket isn't always the best route and many times ends up in this thread category of Buyer's Remorse. Constant checking back at the ticket office or venue website many times reveals another wave of good seats available. But you gotta stay on it relentlessly which can be tiring.

And regarding General Admission, it is just that. The sense of entitlement that some have because they waited in line cracks me up. If I wait in line, I realize that I still have to defend my spot (that it's not mine) and my ticket is still just a GA ticket, regardless. No automatic royalty level is earned because you waited in line. That is a mere figment of the person's imagination.

So I should definitely buy presale? I've heard advice from both sides, so I just want to be sure. Thanks!

no, i was actually just making a joke - i regret not getting those tickets from the regular sale too. i was avoiding question and saying, i regret not going to see every bob show over the course of the year.

but it looks like the pros and cons are pretty well laid out in this thread...

I bought a pair of tickets using a pre-sale password. The seats are on the floor--third row, center. The only thing I don't like is that the tickets are will-call window only, and I can't get them until the afternoon of the concert. I will have both time and transportation limitations that day. At least I'll be close enough to the stage to request "Quit Kicking My Dog Around." That song changed my life just like it changed the world.

Despite your transport problems and having the tickets at will call, it still won't change the seat. Whether you get in the venue as soon as the doors open or 30 secs before Bob comes on stage your seat doesn't change. I don't see how will-call affects any time or transport issues.
Will call is slightly annoying but having worked at venues, you will be shocked how many people forget their tickets or the dog eats them.

But back to the original question. I never buy a seat that I don't want. If the presale offered me 'section nosebleed, row 598', I wouldn't take it.

Tigerm, thanks for your post. I know the will-call only ticket situation won't jeopardize my seat location, but the person I'm going to the concert with might be running late because of his job. I have to meet him somewhere outside the venue to give him his ticket. I wish I could give it to him prior to the concert date. He might not get there until Mark Knopfler's set has started or ended. We've probably all have had bad concert experiences, but I am irrationally apprehensive about this one.

Anyway, here's a song that has nothing to do with anything. Maybe you'll like it:
