It's capacity is tiny. Nice you all got to score. I wish I was going to this one.

Yea but even so, I have not seen a Dylan show sell out this quick in a long time. Maybe someone can prove me wrong?

I attended the Boston House of Blues show last year. That sold out in a few minutes. It holds a bit more people than the venue you're going to. So, I'm not surprised at all your show sold out so fast.

Raging Glory got a ticket for this one, too.

I HATE the huge venues he's booked for this tour.

^ me too. Now that I'm doing Port Chester I'm thinking of not even going to Brooklyn - 18,000. yikes. course that's in November so by then I'll probably want to go anyway.

Sometimes not all the tickets go into the online sales, too.

But hey, happy for all of you who get to go. I went to Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom back in '04 without a ticket and got to buy one at just over face value from someone who's girlfriend couldn't be there.... sometimes you can strike it lucky even after missing out on the presale.

I was 11 in 2004.... but I wish I'd gone to the Barras gig... it's an incredible venue in a great part of Glasgow... but I'll have to be content with the bootleg!

Yes. It was added on late when the 2004 European dates came out. He got his honorary doctorate from St Andrew's 23 June and played Glasgow SECC (big soulless hall) that night, and Barrowlands the next. Boblinks lists the capacity as 1900. You've probably heard the famous singalong versions of JLAW and LARS, and Bob saying during the band introduction that this was "the best singing audience that we ever heard." There weren't many people, but they knew how to make noise. :D Unfortunately, they took both halves of my ticket during the run in, so I don't have that anymore now - but I was there and it's among my best memories.

It's a pretty small club sized place in the East End of Glasgow - one of Glasgow's more deprived and rougher areas, beside the famed 'Barras' market which tends to deal in knock off DVDs and fake clothes... not many big names play it... usually just up and coming Indie bands... although it's built up a pretty hefty reputation and Oasis played a famed gig there in 2001-ish... As far as I know Bob heard about the place, had a day off in Scotland and announced a gig there a few days before. He played to a largered up audience of pretty hard core scottish dylan fans who sung their hearts out and Bob labeled them 'the best singing crowd I've ever had'.

Image

It's very much on the Celtic side of Glasgow football wise and often has celtic-related gigs... here's one to highlight the Barras atmosphere... Imagine this but with Bob

There's video of the Barrowlands gig actually, but nothing too great visually.

I saw that recently actually, but it's just such a poor quality upload... but I suppose beggars can't be choosers!
