Very nice! I saw him do this shortly after the album came out and it was lovely, then it disappeared from sight...great to see it back.

South Dakota would have been a great place to debut Dirt Road Blues... What an opener that would be!

This South Dakota show was the first Saturday show since last October where Bob did not sing about seven people dead on a South Dakota farm; and I suppose he did this on purpose.

Regarding "This Dream Of You", I have mp3 links to all six previous performances (all from 2009) on my "THIS DREAM OF YOU" page on http://www.notdarkyet.org/

I thought he didn't play it in a while, but didn't realize it was that long. It's just like him though to pretty much ignore a full new album (with the exception of Forgetful Heart), and then bring back sth like this so close to the release of his next.

Has there only been 6 previous performances? That's quite nice to have it now, then.

This all depends on what one would consider as "a full new album" or "the release of his next". For some this would have been the one released between the live debut of "This Dream Of You" and the other five live versions later in the fall of 2009, the album ignored on stage not only pretty much, but entirely.

But what is striking to me, when I think of it, is the fact that "This Dream Of You", being the one and only song on both his 2009 releases written entirely by Dylan himself, would now in August 2012 also be the only 100% Dylan song in his live reportoire which was recorded after February 2006, a fact which will hopefully be amended soon after the release of "Tempest".

Okay, a full album of songs that he wrote or co-wrote, then. It was pretty clear from the outset that nothing from CITH would be played live, since it's been ages since he last toured in December.

Not to be confused with Dreamin' Of You from Tell Tale Signs (which would've been outrageous)

Christmas In the Heart is a year round album... he could play any song from it at any time and the response would be huge!

And I, for one, think he should.
