If your cookies are enabled it allows websites to remember places you've visited on the internet. It's the reason you don't have to keep typing in your password in certain places you've already visited. The info is stored.

Here's what my dictionary says.

cookie |ˈko͝okē| noun
1 a small sweet cake, typically round, flat, and crisp.
2 a person of a specified kind:
3 Computing a packet of data sent by an Internet server to a browser, which is returned by the browser each time it subsequently accesses the same server, used to identify the user or track their access to the server.

From a FAQ:

Quote:
What does the “Delete all board cookies” do?
“Delete all board cookies” deletes the cookies created by phpBB which keep you authenticated and logged into the board. It also provides functions such as read tracking if they have been enabled by the board owner. If you are having login or logout problems, deleting board cookies may help.

Quote:
Deleting the cookies will cause the forum system to forget things such as your password and what posts you haven't read yet. Cookies aren't generally bad things - they're usually very convenient.

Stupid Question

A fellow I used to work with used to say "The only stupid question is the one you don't ask."

A teacher used to say "There are no stupid questions but sometimes there are stupid answers."

I saw a sign that read: There are no stupid questions but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

I don't think any of this helped but it was entertaining for me...

My browser has a feature where I can delete all cookies except those for websites on my favorites list. It's a nice feature-I don't believe it's good for computer performance to let the cookies pile up.

A teacher of mine used to say "intelligent people are never afraid to ask questions".

A cookie is a small giga-byte biscuit treat for well behaved computers.

Everytime I virus scan my computer it deletes my cookies. It sucks. I have to re-sign into everything.

Tell your virus scanner not to delete your cookies ... or else! That'll fix it. :|
