If not for you, the night would see me wide awake
The day would surely have to break
It would not be new, if not for you

...Which can be applied to several types of entities.

Wow cinderella..... I must be in tune with you tonight.... I looked down the page and realized that my three favorite of the ones that were listed were all you...... The first time I heard shooting star... I had just come in from seeing a shooting star... I think I have only seen one maybe two or three times my whole life so that was really a strange feeling when that song came on.... :D

It makes me happy to think that someone might be in tune with me. That's nice. Some people think seeing a shooting star is bad luck. I don't agree. I make a wish on them.

Well, the moral of the story,
The moral of this song,
Is simply that one should never be
Where one does not belong.
So when you see your neighbor carryin' somethin',
Help him with his load,
And don't go mistaking Paradise
For that home across the road.

I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs,
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air.
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died.
She had to sell everything she owned
And froze up inside.
And when finally the bottom fell out
I became withdrawn,
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew,
Tangled up in blue.

I'm as pale as a ghost
Holding a blossom on a stem
You ever seen a ghost?
No, but you have heard of them

Now we heard the Sermon on the Mount
And I knew it was too Complex
It didn't amount to Anything more
Than what the Broken Glass Reflects...

or

Seems like I been down this way before
Is there any truth in that?, Señor...

I like this one too... but I am not sure if it is the words themselves, or the delivery....
Ya just know he is up to something having to do with a big grin the way he sings this one...

I sure hope your wish idea is right because I had heard that and made one great big wish on that shooting star... :D

I'm going back to New York City
I do believe I've had enough.

Because that is how I feel whenever I go back to my hometown NYC.

Many times while thinking of lost friends or family, these lines have often crept back to mind in a peculiar,
beautifully comforting... yet almost hauntingly way.

This song is perhaps my sentimental favorite because it brings me back to a very tender time in my youth, and it continues to ring true down the years.

...Some are mathematicians, some are carpenters' wives,
Don't know how it all got started.
I don't know what they do with their lives.
But me I'm still on the road, heading for another joint..

Trying to write my Thesis so feel this quote is quite appropriate
