A few of the ones that have always stayed in my head:

"Behind every beautiful thing there's been some kind of pain"

"But to live outside the law, you must be honest"

"Let me forget about today until tomorrow"

They say in your father's house, there's many mansions
Each one of them got a fireproof floor.

Lately I've found this line from TTL funny for some reason:

"Some of you women you really know your stuff (X2)
But your clothes are all torn and your language is a little too rough."

That's such an old guy thing to say!

Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night
Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall.
She sees the bartender in a pool of blood,
Cries out, "My God, they killed them all!"

BTW, Have you noticed HURRICANE is always the most popular track on SPOTIFY???

I'm sure like some of you, it changes all the time, but I've been in a laughing mood lately:
"I decided to flip a coin
Like either heads or tails
Would let me know if I should go
Back to ship or back to jail
So I hocked my sailor suit
And I got a coin to flip
It came up tails
It rhymed with sails
So I made it back to the ship
"

"I think Abraham Lincoln said that." gets me every time too.

What's it to ya, Moby Dick? This is chicken town!

(Well, it had to be my favourite, didn't it?)

what a great display pic you have Botticell! :D

youve gotta love '65 Dylan

on the topic of favourite lyrics, love the whole of 'this dream of you', totally underated, one of Bob's deepest and most honest songs, i think, about his spirituality. Its very similar, thematically, at times, imo, to songs lik NDY, tryin to get to heaven and Mississippi. Here are some of my favourite bits:

Am I too blind to see?
Is my heart
playing tricks on me?
I’m lost in the crowd,
all my tears
are gone.

Everything I touch
seems to disappear
Everywhere I turn
you are always here
I run this race
until my earthly death
I’ll defend this place
with my dying breath

From a cheerless room
in a curtained gloom
I saw a star from heaven fall
I turned and looked again
but it was gone

Haha! Thanks for saying that. 'Grandad' indeed... Man born in '40s, woman born in '50s... I've been struggling with that line, as a female who wears charity shop and Ebay designer gear and gives in to profanity on regular occasions! I do know my stuff though...

"Now at midnight all the agents
And the superhuman crew
Come out and round up everyone
That knows more than they do"

Bob is one of the greatest wordsmiths in the English language, so I have a huge number of favorite lines, but this one has been sticking with me for the past few days.

Also, that entire #$%@ song is a great "line".
