Hard Rain (hopefully expanded),
footage from 1966 (assembled into concert-ish form, maybe as extras to Eat The Document),
ditto 1975 footage (w/Renaldo)
Toronto 1980 Gospel show
Hard to Handle (though I don't care for this tour--they'll release it anyway)

are all inevitable...

There was a rumor some time ago (in the 90's) that Dylan was working on a NET movie...but I have no idea what substance was behind it. At some point, even if it's fan video with pro audio, we'll see NET material too.

So suidice is not an option just yet--life has more to offer you :D

I think PBS is planning a season (13 week of 2 hour episodes) titled
Twenty Years of the NET: Inspiration, Imagination, and the Greatest Live Music Ever.**

I'm already saving up to purchase the boxed set when its available. :D

Personally, I don't think you can capture the grandeur and the glory of the NET in less than 10 seasons but I appreciate their efforts.

(**The press release stated "Liner notes supplied by Long Johnny" - anyone know what that's about?)

I've heard the first season is just about '88 and '89.

And the final two season focus on the Spring 2004 shows...

Heaven...pure heaven, I tell you!

But: My sources tell me that Dylan felt there was something missing from the overall sound, so there will be organ overdubs over everything.

Holy sheep sh*t, circus organ overdubs could reduce the highlights of the NET to a 15 second commercial.
It'll save them a lot of time going through archives for material but it won't be very informative. :(

Gone are the grandeur and glory. I believe I'm just going to stay in bed today and cry a while.

Life is hard...

The NET documentary footage was filmed in 1994 (I remember from Isis magazine) and there was indeed footage because members of audience at numerous shows that year reported there was filming, I think there may have been filming in 1993 too (no, not Supper Club)

As I recall there was supposed to be a couple of songs from this footage included in the Bob Dylan Highway 61 interactive cd, there is a Bob Dylan 1994 tour pass as part of the graphics somewhere on it, you were supposed to click that and it was supposed to show 2 songs from a 94 concert (not Woodstock) but of course when you click on it nothing happens.

Howard Alk also shot a ton of footage during the 1981 European Tour, onstage and offstage stuff, akin to Renaldo and Clara.

Oh yeah--wasn't there a bunch of pro shot footage from Europe '91 (I believe Dylan called it the "one last sad cry of pity tour")?? Just what the world needs, eh?

In truth, I reallly love some of that stuff...but I wouldn't recommend it as the first release.

There was never anything about filming in 91, no reports from anyone at all so I find it unlikely, the footage was from 93 and 94 as I have said above.

Not just "inevitable" but actually already available.

If there was a release it would undoubtedly include the Avignon footage, I don't know if any of the other concerts were filmed that year but I would suspect that a few were.
