Just as the 2009 tour closes down and the feared depression accompanying that experience is about to set in, what does Bob do? Rumors of the 2010 Tour commencing in March begin to circulate. Unconfirmed, they may be, but hope is hope.

Yesterday we were nearly in the jaws of dispair. Today we have a reason to live...and live with great joy and enthusiasm.

I believe this to be a sign of a benevolent Bob. A sign that he truly cares about his fans. My heart is overjoyed!!! :D

bob is a musician, hence he plays music. he's a live musician, hence he tours. the guy who turns up every day at work to put cherries on top of little iced buns is a professional too - turns up EVERY day not just a few months a year - does he care about his consumers? who knows.... the paypacket probably has more to do with it than love. sorry to be a downer..... anyway i think bob possibly loves playing music (sometimes) for its own sake too - especially for the infrequent moments when something new and exciting comes out of it (something the cherry on the bun guy probably misses out on) but fans don't come into it at all except as a way of continuing to finance a way of life.

stoneyboy, please give some evidence as to why it won't happen...

Putting a dampner on this so suddenly risks throwing the entire free world into the depths of depression and despair.

slimtimslide, you underestimate the great love and gigantic heart of the poet laureate of rock-n-roll.

The market for Dylan shows in Japan isnt what it once was im afraid, due to the current economic downturn of recent months and the continued rise in price of aviation fuel Bobs people have put a blocker on this,my sources are very reliable, rest assured, you will be thanking me in the spring time when the more lucrative European 2010 leg gets under way in Scandinavia yet again.

I will continue to post updates as and when i receive more snippets of info, meanwhile kick back relax and listen to the show from Zurich Hallenstadion April 21st 2002,it always works for me.

stoneyboy, either you're associated with the band or in the mental health profession (both???). If the Zurich show doesn't make a person feel better something is SERIOUSLY wrong! Great prescription for what ails.

Thanks :D :D :D

If he comes to Hiroshima again, I'd be glad to buy him a drink. Hell, I'll buy the whole band drinks!

For your sake, ptervin, I hope he follows through with this tour. The experience of his tours at this point in time is pretty incredible.

I want to see this happen, if only to allow the slight possibility that Bob will cover Sukiyaki.

Let's just wait and see, Mr. Zimmerman...I mean stoneyboy.

I'm still unconvinced that a Christmas album is in the works.

If listening to NET boots eight hours a day, five days a week does not count...

then no, I don't like listening to records or CDs.

Bob had a ball last time he was here and all shows were sold out.

Rising aviation fuel prices? Bob could just leave his private jet parked and fly first class, like the rest of us peasants...

C'mon Bob - get on down to Australia - the weather is great in March.

Yes & Yes.

Also with the Aussie dollar so high, it has to be more money in the pocket for BD, right? Or do I have that confused?

Plus we were never really badly hit economically so there's definitely an audience.

But my one request is that he plays somewhere other than arena's and entertainment centers.

No, I just know every cheap, dirty little waterhole in town. Bob won't mind. Nobody will recognize him or ask him to sing karaoke versions of "Blowin' In The Window"* from words on a television screen showing scenes of Hawaiian palm trees swaying in the sunset with occasional closeups of a silhouetted couple staring into each others eyes. None of that, Bob, you're safe.

*That's how it's pronounced here.

No, you are right. The high Aussie Dollar means more cash in US$ for Bob.

I got no problem with that.

But - and take this as a definite - they are trying to get Bob to do one of these "Live in the Vineyard" shows where he plays an outdoor venue in (you guessed it) in a Vineyard a couple of hours north of Sydney in the Hunter Valley.

The last "big name" to do this was Mellencamp before he toured with BD and the promoter for these shows was on the radio recently saying Dylan was his next target for such a show.

There is big bikkies in them shows - so I wouldn't discount it and the weather here in March is just right for these type of events.

The sound in the Sydney Entertainment Centre seriously sucks unless you are right up front. A pub tour of Australia would be my dream - Dylan live every night and not one of them sober - YEAH!!!

A vineyard show? So we can drink great wine and watch the concert? I'm there!

I'd be happy with a more regional Tour a-la 2001, that way I can miss some of the bigger arenas.

what was the venue like in melbourne 66? i know it wasnt just booze but the intimacy + drug abuse/fatigue led to a fab show. sounds like a medium size hall - definitely not a pub.

The Melbourne 66 show was at Festival Hall - a boxing arena (big tin shed) which was also used for a lot of early rock'n'roll shows. The Beatles also played there in 64.

How serious is the suggestion of the vineyard shows?? Isn't Leonard Cohen bigger than Mellencamp? He played a vineyard down here last summer.

Fleetwood Mac played there recently. The seating is expensive and limited in number. If he comes down here and plays ONLY at the vineyard I'd be very surprised.

Me too. It just wouldn't make any sense, money wise. Also, Bob loves to tour, so he wouldn't come all this way just for one show.

Well he could line up a few exclusive venues, such as the Margaret River vineyard in WA that puts on these type of shows. But doing that tour ONLY.......I very much doubt it.
