From the front page today:
http://www.artnet.com/magazineus/news/a ... allery.asp
http://www.gagosian.com/artists/bob-dylan/#/images/1/

Note that they say on facebook that these are three previously unseen paintings, but actually only "Opium" is new. It dates from 2010 while the other two are 2009 works and are part of the Brazil Series. "Opium" might be a previously unseen part of that, but it looks a little bit different, so one might speculate it's part of a new circle of works. Hope we'll find out soon.

Meanwhile I notice that there are several Gagosian galleries the world over. Will his artwork be finally brought back home to NYC?*

If anyone finds any information on this, any links or news cuttings or even rumors, please please please contact me. I'm still working on a complete listing of all of Bob's artwork and trying to archive any information on this I can get. Thank you (and please see also viewtopic.php?f=6&t=60736).

*Edited to add: It will indeed be Gagosian Gallery in NYC. Even though this takes away any chance of me actually going to see the exhibition, it seems like a good move to finally bring his art to the US. Hurray to Bob for that! The exhibition opens in September - I'd think he'll have some new pieces ready for such a prestigious show.

Yes Bluemy, but the one in Paris is not an art exhibition, it will have photos, documents and memorabilia from the '60s. I hope though that the new paintings will eventually come to Europe, too.

The newest painting "Opium"....

....reminds me of

Must be the pose, the red dress and dark hair, plus the background with all that stuff littered around.

No art exhibition that's to bad ... so it's still a rumor than that he's gona have a art exhibition in Paris .
I like the new painting and I my first thoughts where the same as your's ... lots of thinks in the painting is equal to the bring it all back home cover .
I have read the the book Brazi series I like this paintings more than the Drawing Blank series ... The painting I like the most is Bamboo Road .. The lady who fights here way through the bamoo to create a path to freedom ... It make's my thought of al the woman in the world how's trying to keep there self standing in this hard world full of man ... Woman are power figures sad Dylan ... but are we ... Well in some kind of way we are "but in real live"...................

Word is that this new exhibition of Bob's art will tour, going from NYC to China and on from there.

You have to report back in detail, please. Likely you won't be allowed to take photos, but apart from that, any little thing will be interesting.

I really hope there will be a new catalogue available to order from other places.

Some facts from Gagosian Gallery via today's front page:

Exhibition "The Asia Series" will open at their Madison Avenue gallery on 20 September and run until 22 October. There's a tiny new painting on the website, looks like a Buddhist monk?
http://www.gagosian.com/artists/bob-dylan/exhibitions/

I will try to contact the gallery about more details like the availability of a catalogue, etc.

I totally don't know what that is all about. It doesn't look like one of Bob's artworks.

I also googled the original Life magazine cover and it's identical to the supposed Bob work. Apart from the somewhat cryptic text that someone's added down the right. Something fishy here, methinks.

It's a painting from Larry burrows , I don't know why the say that the painting is from Bob ... it is probably a mistake .

Maybe somebody can email the gallery about this. I already asked them a bunch of things about the show and am awaiting reply.

So who's going to this? If I lived (slightly nearby) in the US I'd be there in a heartbeat. However, I'm way up in Toronto and it's about a 10-11 hour trip by bus, one way. It may just be the insanity bit of insomnia kicking in, but I think it might be do-able. Am I crazy?

No. I'm thinking about coming in from Europe. These are Bob originals!
