What are your picks?

Underrated means underrated (only studio releases).

My 5 most are:

1. Rosemary and the Jack of the Hearts.
2. Dark Eyes
3. Changing of the guards
4. Precious Memories
5. Precious angel

That last one is a great choice!

Mine:
Crash On The Levee
Sugar Baby
Can’t Wait (Tell Tale Signs disc I)
Marchin’ To The City (Tell Tale Signs disc I)
Blind Willie McTell
(Until everybody agrees with me that it’s the greatest song he ever wrote/performed/recorded it remains sadly underrated.)

I also love Dirty World :D
I know it’s a Travelling Wilburys song, but Dylan wrote it and has lead vocal too.

Bob Dylan's Dream
Great pick!
Quote:
Hinting at songs like Tangled Up in Blue, Dylan composed and performed this ode to lost youth and fractured community when he was still just a footloose young lad himself...While not widely recognized as an important work outside Dylan's circle of fans and scholars, it is a burnished jewel full of wanderlust and quiet ceremony--a sister song of the better-known 'Girl of the North Country.' - Oliver Trager, Keys to the Rain - The Definitive Bob Dylan Encyclopedia
(Trager's book seems to have fallen through the cracks but it's pretty cool) http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/132022.Keys_to_the_Rain

Revised:
In The Summertime
Bob Dylan's Dream
Odds and Ends
Day of the Locusts
Tight Connection to My Heart

Ballad in plain D (by far)

Cry Awhile (not sure if this is underrated, I love it, never heard/seen anyone talk or write about it before)

Joey

Union Sundown

Do right to me baby (do unto others)

Hon. Mention:

When the night comes falling from the sky (it gets bashed a lot among Dylan fans and I can understand why, but I like it)

The songs I chose are underrated by me. I made my list of songs based on what i've read on sites like this and The Dylanpool etc over the years. Basicly If I really like the song and it's been mainly disliked from what i've read or heard then I consider it underrated. I just assumed that's what the question was asking for?

I can't see the point in listing songs which are already appreciated enough, so I agree with those naming Dylan's Dream among his best, but overrated?
I don't think so.....he's always sung it, even recently....

So here we go:

1. Handy Dandy
His phrasing, namely in the *sitting with a girl named Nancy* tag, isFather top Dylan

2. Journey Through Dark Heat.
I've never understood why this song is not up there with Joahnna, Desolation and Tangled.
Both for music and lyrics.
On the contrary, there are people who consider SL a minor worrk....oh, well.

3. Father Of Night.
See above; one of his best lyrics together with one of his most complicated and beautiful tunes.
Celestial.

4. Billy
It should've been the main soundtrack.
It's superior to Knockin' in many ways, to my ears.

5. Santa Fe
Subtle irony, unputdownable melody.
The improved version of more celebratred tracks a-la it ain't me babe.

Well I wanted to say "Sweetheart Like you" but it appears here and there on this thread, so it's quite mid-rated.

1. "I & I" is his best track not mentioned enough times
2. "Obviously 5 Believers"
3. "Shot Of Love"
4. "What Can i Do For You"
5. "Highlands"
