OK, so Bob has engaged in a lot of antics lately that call the concept of "authorship" into question.

Ghostwriting of songs is rumored to be rampant in the music industry. There has been some controversy recently about ghostwriting in hip-hop:

But many of the articles about it start with, "We all know there is ghostwriting in pop, but we thought hip-hop was more authentic."

Wiki gives the same unsourced rumor: that ghostwriting is incredibly commonplace in the music industry.

Since I've long wondered if Bob does a significant amount of ghostwriting himself, I wonder if all his recent "who's-the-real-author" games are a bit of a commentary on that. Could he be making the point that you never really know who has created what youre listening to/looking at?

I think he's trying, to a certain point at least, to say that it doesn't matter so much who wrote what. Treat mankind as a single author. And I can't help but agree.

I don't know but I always try to judge the art not the artist. The end result is the most important thing.

If he didn't write the line, "I stole my personality from an anonymous source," then he should have.

Probably not totally practical but love this sentiment.
