They didn't have loft insulators in the mid-60s. We couldn't afford them.

Didn't stop my ancestors SGB! Trevs've been insulating lofts for hundreds of years, starting long before the invention of lofts. In fact, initially loft insulators viewed lofts suspiciously, but we soon grew to understand that they may even help business!

i cant blame loft insulators from viewing lofts suspiciously, since im not sure what lofts are. here lofts are where you go when you are ready to pass out drunk so the last thing you would need is insulation. so yes, you have to be suspicious/

I heard that they were terribly overrated in those days and now have just been riding the tailcoats of lives past...

Tony Garnier told me he needs his house insulated. I told him his insolation was the big cheese.

I even heard James McMurtry sing about them saying they can't make it here anymore.

BOB is ONE. :D

you cant divide him. MT is as much a masterpiece as HWY 61 and HWY 61 is the ultimate masterpiece. :D
but wait for Tempest, its gonna school the music community. :D

Yikes! MT is not a masterpiece. It's good, but BIABH, HWY61 and BoB are masterpieces. I sometimes wonder if they are overrated but then I listen to them again and I am reminded every time. Other possible masterpieces...BOTT, Freewheelin’, Times Are A-Changin’. All for different reasons.

Personal not-so-popular favs: Street Legal and Shot Of Love.

Bob's masterpieces are:
Freewheelin'
The Times
BIABH
HWY61
BoB
Arguably JWH
BOTT
Desire
Oh Mercy
TOOM
L&T
These aren't necessarily my favorites. I just think they are technically his "best" as a whole.

If you swap Joey out for Abandoned Love...Desire becomes a Masterpiece.

Bootleg #8 proved to me that Oh Mercy and TOOM could have been much better. Although 2 of my favorites.

Love L&T, just think it has a few too many weaker songs…I just can’t listen to Tweedle and Mississippi has better versions (again, the damn bootlegs!!)

I'll agree that the acoustic version of Mississippi is far superior to the album version.

Damn good picks! They're mine as well, I have a soft spot for Modern Times but it is by no means a masterpiece.

Well, personally I love 99 percent of Bob's albums, and see them as masterpieces, but I didn't want to fanboy out too much.

As recent events show though, it's the other 1 percent that matter the most.

OCCUPY BOB DYLAN'S BACK CATALOGUE!

The 10 best albums he's made represent less than 1% of the total wealth of his material.

Why are Blonde on Blonde, John Wesley Harding and Blood On The Tracks forced to live in such a ghetto? Who will speak for poor broken Highway 61 Revisited? Freewheelin' is denied urgent medical treatment while Modern Times smokes cigars and burns money!

IT'S TIME WE STOOD UP TO SUCH INJUSTICE!!

abandoned love in its studio form goes nowhere, thats why it was left off the record. desire is basically a demo. :D

its called musicology, the kind you find in mojo or uncut or rolling stone anywhere with musical sophistication, you'll find that they would agree with the sentiment that just about everything bob has done is a masterpiece. MT for one is the mountainto  p.
