Afraid I don't have the ability to rip vinyl to digital formats Mr Oxford but I'm sure BB may be able to assist. Just to add to my joy I awoke this morning to confirmation that my (almost) joke bid on a vinyl L&T was successful...apologies if I was actually bidding against any of you.

That's enough rare Bob vinyl. For now.

Not used, but can someone tell me anything about this? Is the sound quality as good as an original Columbia issue?

http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/31979 ... l_Box_Sets

I have found original pressings on discogs, starting at $99 and a 200 gram on ebay for $69. The $50 is expensive, but more a possibility for me.

Raging - do you not have any record stores / private sellers around you? I've picked up my copies of many of the Bootleg Series in VG++ / NM condition for $30-$50

ok, unless you are in an absolute hurry, don't order just yet. i can go visit some stores around me and mail it to you if they have it. also if there are multiple records you're looking for, just send me a pm with the list. i can look for those too and may even have a spare lying around from my own personal collection.

More questions.......

Thanks to all those who have offered help so far.

I have about 10 Dylan releases on vinyl and all of them sound really great except my copy of Street Legal. It is in pristine condition so I am trying to figure out why. It has a muffled sound to my ears. I only got my turntable running a few days ago so previously I had been listening to Street Legal on CD. The CD was issued in '99 so was it remastered? The LP is a Columbia issue from '78 so a first or early pressing, I guess. Could this be the difference I am hearing?

I've enjoyed my copy of street legal - moreso than the CD - but i don't have the remastered CD. the remastered may have improved. you said the condition is good? not sure, but i have a few records in good condition that seem very narrow in their pitch. i think my receiver is due for a cleaning, so i think that will take care of my annoyance. but i do find it more annoying after i have played old records...i now give my records a clean and the needle a wipe before each spin....i'll still find a hair midsong somewhere when that pitch starts to get to me....

as for tellmemomma....is it just me or has he been avoiding Bobtalk lately? he's strictly off topic these days it seems...
