My local record store is holding a listening party on Sept 8th. They are raffling a test pressing of the record 'Tempest.'

You should check your local store. Mine is also giving away posters.

cheers

Where do you live? My record store laughed in my face when I brought it up.

is it a big store? there's two around here, but they're both really small, independent shops.

It in an old movie theater, one level, no balcony, but I guess its pretty big in relation to most record stores these days.

They showed me pictures of the pressings. They dont have them yet. Also posters, I wonder what they will look like. They told me they would save me one.

Back in '09 a local shop here had a listening party for TTL a few days before it's release. Had a local Columbia representative there that immediately took the pressing and left as soon as it finished playing, nobody else but the store owner was allowed to touch it. No giveaways.

JellyRoll, maybe you just don't know how lucky you are, but Vintage Vinyl is possibly the best record store in the WORLD. If I were Bob or Sony and had just ONE test pressing to give away, I definitely would give it to VV.

So don't hold your breath guys, they might be doing this is a few other locations, but it's certainly not going to be a nationwide phenomena.

Oh, yeah, I don't take the place for granted. It is my shop. I love it. Best in the world, I don't know, but damn good for sure.

Vintage Vinyl is doing that? My favorite record store. I may have to drive on down.
