looking for some insight on isis. I have been reading their updates and in some they mention that they had heard about the album but waited for further confirmation. Is this true or is this just made up stuff to sound like they are in the know?

I really don't know or subscribe to the newsletters or the magazine so I guess I want to know from others if they do ever get the scoop and share it among Dylan fans (before some other source confirms it).

Perhaps they have been spot on in the past, I don't know. Just looking for some insight on this site/organization...

They are spot on and generally won't publish stuff until they have done their research and are confident of its authenticity. They were careful to make clear on this occasion that the external producer and particularly Knopfler bits were not to be taken as gospel but you can take it if they say anything with certainty, it's nailed on to be bang on.

Ian Woodward is one of the most anally retentive anoraks in the world ever*. He's a lovely bloke but his trainspotting skills run deeeeeeep.

In the case of Bob Dylan news, that's a good thing. Take it from me, you can trust what Isis report.

I have been told by a long time Dylan fan that they usually get the first report on new info from reliable sources.

Such is the weird frenzy of anticipation, you would think that we were awaiting news on the Second Coming of Blonde on Blonde, not the follow-up to Together Through Life.

Sexton has experience in production. Wouldn't surprise me if he has a big input into that end of the album even if he isn't formally credited.

Mr. Jack Frost, Charlie Sexton, David Hidalgo... as much as I liked him on tour, what would Knopfler's guitar and production do in such a raw (perfect) setting? Pity that Larry Campbell left the crew, though. Needless to say I can't wait. I love Dylan's recent work to death. Take the sound and the tight playing on Together Through Life (great album and so much fun) and think of further elaboration, maybe some solos without slipping into boring artistry, Hidalgo on guitar, some killer lyrics... I'm sure it will be quite something. As much as Dylan won't repeat himself, he won't get into any production conflicts these days, so it will be just fine.

(Or yeah, maybe he'll get all into some folklore virtuoso stuff, with Knopfler conducting the flutes, and I'll have my first 'Oh my god, Dylan totally changed, he just is not what he used to be' whining moment, finally! :D)
