Thanks goombay, I agree with you completely.
When Mr Jones says that he loves Together Through Life (for example), I believe him and think that he truly does - even if I'm of a different opinion.
He's got a lot of very interesting things to say about other artists which no one really seems to question but here on ER we seem to hold him to a strange standard when it comes to Dylan.
I saw that Harold Lepidus shouted out again about this yesterday, in case anyone missed it:

i don't see what the confusion is, you got mr jones comments and thats it. i love together thru life myself. the more i listened to it the more trancelike i found those riffs. its a great album. the bob trademark is one of quality. very very very rare for bob to put out subpar material.
mr jones i find a great music lover and a stand up guy. back in the day you had to get in fist fights over liking bob music. people would give you unsolicited commentary about his voice or this or that. soon everybody was in disarray.but then bob got to getting hot and taking names and nobody would dis him. he became great. you a bob fan? let me buy you some tequila and lime juice. things had changed for the better. so you saunter over to the bob forum getting ready to get happy. and what to do you find? that if you say good things about bob you get accused of either being bob or some other crime.[/quote]
It is not a crime to be Bob goomy. I would just like to see some more balance. You make Bob into some kind of superhuman. There is not such a thing. I am happy there is Bob Dylan. You see everything in either good or bad but there are many nyances of grey and all the other colors too.
