i like that duet cliff did with van.

When Robin Gibb passed away last week, Cliff's televised tribute naturally included the declaration that the Bee Gees were the best pop band these islands had produced. Poor Cliff. Where The Beatles are concerned, he's like Ted Heath bitterly railing against Margaret Thatcher. They totally supplanted him, and turned him into a piece of forgotten, found-out piece of memorabilia, an aging mum's forlorn pin-up

is that the parliament they show on tv sometimes. one guy on one side stands up and berates the other side then everybody hoots and then he sits down and the other gent on the other side up and does the same thing. love watching that. but i dont want to get involved in the business of king george.
but im a huge bee gees fan. a great group. and the little bro too, andy, great talents. listening to words are all i have to give now as a matter of fact.

Or maybe NEXT week...

I wonder what week it ended up being?

My guess is that my "exposure" of the "test listen" back in May never postponed anything at all and that everything went according to the original plan. I'd like to think so, at least.

As I stated in another thread, Mr. Jones hasn't really told us very much but he's certainly got me even more excited about hearing the bloody thing!

i believe it was when he said he was, but then isis mag tried to dis him a little bit so he clammed up. i think that he is a great music lover and an impartial judge of good music. note he said that sting album was the worse, and right he was about thant one as well. when he tell you the bob is amazing you know he aint steering you wrong. i have nothing but admiration for the good man.

Thanks goombay, I agree with you completely.

When Mr Jones says that he loves Together Through Life (for example), I believe him and think that he truly does - even if I'm of a different opinion.

He's got a lot of very interesting things to say about other artists which no one really seems to question but here on ER we seem to hold him to a strange standard when it comes to Dylan.

I saw that Harold Lepidus shouted out again about this yesterday, in case anyone missed it:

i don't see what the confusion is, you got mr jones comments and thats it. i love together thru life myself. the more i listened to it the more trancelike i found those riffs. its a great album. the bob trademark is one of quality. very very very rare for bob to put out subpar material.

mr jones i find a great music lover and a stand up guy. back in the day you had to get in fist fights over liking bob music. people would give you unsolicited commentary about his voice or this or that. soon everybody was in disarray.but then bob got to getting hot and taking names and nobody would dis him. he became great. you a bob fan? let me buy you some tequila and lime juice. things had changed for the better. so you saunter over to the bob forum getting ready to get happy. and what to do you find? that if you say good things about bob you get accused of either being bob or some other crime.

It is not a crime to be Bob goomy. I would just like to see some more balance. You make Bob into some kind of superhuman. There is not such a thing. I am happy there is Bob Dylan. You see everything in either good or bad but there are many nyances of grey and all the other colors too.

geez, its everyday with this nonsense. maybe i can offer some advice to all these folks who are interested in more balanced -grey posts: write them and post them up yourselves. i am not a poster for hire nor at this moment soliciting any input as to what my posts should contain.

either they are too grandiose or to tedious or not balanced or grey enough or coherent enough, etc etc and more etc. good.
they aint changing. an idea would be to go out and create your own posts, do like lester bangs did when he started his own band.

I wouldn't want to hire you goombay. You got that wrong. Why so angry? What did I say that makes you feel so hateful? This is a crazy place. Is this something to get so agitated about? What is wrong to look for balance and nyances in life? I still claim that you make Bob into a superhuman and if he was Superman I would try to pull off his cape, to see what happens....
