Sorry, as useful as it might be in many areas of life, you can't pretend the last 30 years didn't happen.

Where's my contractual obligation to compile Biograph 2?

Far more scary that you think you have to listen to Dylan's work if you dont want to, mate.

You're about the only one who doesn't want to, Ben, and it's strictly your loss.

@panther: I don't think you could make a 3 disc set with nearly as big a choice of great material from the second half of that guy's career.

For some reason, one of the things that sort of annoys me about ModBob is the overuse of the weather in his lyrics. It gets so repetitive.

I've listened to Modern Times and Love and Theft a lot more than usual these last few days though. I still have an extremely low tolerance for Time Out of Mind.

Yes - and the fact that he's always walking through rain, hailing stony skies and snowy storms. Why doesn't he just stay in like the rest of us? Or at least buy an umbrella?

I think he answers that last point in Series Of Dreams.

Because it is far more adventurous :o , youthful 8) , and romantic :D to get all wet and chilled, then come inside, strip everything off laughing, and wrap up in a cozy throw while sipping hot chocolate or rich red wine next to a crackling fire!

Just my take on it.

Ah, the old gothic romantic thing?

Reminds me of that quote from some guitarist who was playing with Dylan in the mid 80s, who saw Bob wearing a big frilly white shirt and said "You're looking very Byronic today, Bob".

Bob then proceeded not to to talk to the guy for weeks. Turns out he thought the guy said "moronic".

Funny story. Life is full of little misunderstandings like that, especially with the advent of the Internet...and high frequency nerve deafness
