Does anybody have the above a CD-rip they could share?

The album was re-mastered by Steve Berkowitz last year and is apparently a big improvement over the 2001 Cd release.

Thanks for the link. I just ordered it, and should have it on Friday so will compare it to my original '76 vinyl copy over the weekend and report back.

As for a rip, no - as far as I am aware there is no needledrop currently circulating....

Edited to add: Isis have a nice round up of the state of Dylan remastering/remixing etc:

http://www.bobdylanisis.com/contents/en-uk/d94.html

The Hard Rain entry reads:

Although this CD was repressed for UK release in 2001 (CD32308), it has never been remixed or re-mastered.

Vinyl: In October 2011, “Hard Rain” (MOVLP345) was released in Europe on 180g vinyl by Dutch vinyl specialists Music On Vinyl. It appears that Steve Berkowitz re-mastered this album in New York especially for this MOV release. Prior to this release, “Hard Rain” had never before been remixed or re-mastered. This release is therefore unique to MOV and the sound quality is by far the best that’s currently available on CD.

Best pre-NET Dylan live album, certainly. PS, I don't think we share rips of official releases on here.

I know it's a lame argument but I have bought Hard Rain 5 times in various formats. And if the remaster was available on CD, I'd be the first in line.

I believe you'd be, but sharing official stuff here can get the site in trouble. But of course, it's up to the mods to make a decision.

I wouldnt hold your breath - I doubt it'll happen, unless they do a whole 'remaster' box of all the albums at some point. CD is a dying format, and Hard Rain isn't an album that would sell in enough quantities to justify the expense, I dont think....

We may not get it until the dvd (possibly his best) is released to the public in 2025.

Really? A whole year early, that is exciting news! My well placed sources *taps side of nose, winks archly* informed me that we wouldn't be getting a Hard Rain PurpleRay vision+ superdigi-remaster release until 2026, the 50th anniversary! :)

Your sources are correct. The remaster, which will also contain Tangled Up In Blue as a bonus track, will be released in 2026 and cost three times what the 2025 edition will fetch.

Do you happen to know if the audience fade outs are included, as on the original vinyl release, or if the intrusive audience noise inserted between songs on the CD release is retained?

I'll let you know over the weekend Brian - if my scheduled Amazon drop happens today, that is.

This masterpiece could benefit greatly from a remastering. Really curious to know how the eagle is doing, Bennyboy!

What in God's name are you doing that's more important than listening to a virgin vinyl remaster of Hard Rain?
