If that is your criteria, you can't list anything EXCEPT Toads Place 1/12/90.
The place was ecstatic.

all that being said, the performances were mostly terrible.

Give me Montreal or Waterbury or MSG 75 or Fort Collins 76.

bob was loose as a grey goose at toads place. you ever known the grey goose? no, but you probably heard of him:

The fox grabbed the grey goose by the neck
slung the little one over his back
he didn't mind the quack quack quack
and the legs all dangling down-o, down-o, down-o
he didn't mind the quack quack quack
and the legs all dangling down-o.

Old Mother Pitter Patter jumped out of bed
out of the window she popped her head yelling
"John, John the grey goose is gone!
and the fox is on the town-o, town-o, town-o
John, John the grey goose is gone!
and the fox is on the town-o."

that grey goose was put to rest at toads place. all those other shows cant hold a candle to it.
blue ridge mts alone should be put in a rocketship and sent to the new dwarf moons.

You missed out the 'as opposed to pre-1976/86/96' bit. See, that's what makes the difference.

Well, I might hate his singing, but judging by your avatar, nuff respect to 71 year old Bob Dylan for sitting there in sunglasses while nonchalantly getting a handjob in front of The President of The United States. The guy's got bottle.

i'd only take issue with it if he was incorrect in his assertion.

I'm guessing that the gospel era songs are vastly overlooked for consideration here, based on what was prevalent in the setlists...the same criteria could invalidate some of the 60s shows...

The staying powers of ModNETBob....
So I can come 'round next time he plays London?

Troub, as I said earlier, IF those shows post-'00 aren't good enough, there's even less reason to exclude them - why do so if you think noone's gonna vote for them anyway.

Cause art knew you'd break the rules and vote for them, come hell or high water, outside of the thread's parameters and with all reason and critical faculties sacrificed on the altar of 'he was only good since I was old enough to see him'. The whole point of the thread was to set the rules and watch them get broken by the likes of you. You fell for it.

yes i agree - rule formation and constraint of the masses is usually derived from fear of what one cannot control. it was a small person's move. not a fearless decision...and certainly not science...

All three are mostly dreary and uninspired years, IMO.

But all these are post 2000 so they don't count. If you can't conform to the rules you are banned from my thread!

I don't know how you expect to build a consensus on a question that you've tailored to your own preconceived opinion. (In this case, the opinion that any show after 2000 cannot be considered greater than the best shows before 2000.) If you're so confident of that, then why try to arbitrarily limit the selection in the fashion you have done? Essentially, you're saying the opinions of people who think Bob has been a better performer post-2000 than he was earlier in his career are not valid to be considered, even though you claim to be looking for a consensus. To arrive at a consensus you must at least take into account all opinions, even though minority views may ultimately not be reflected by the final outcome.
