Anyone else got an old English/European ballad kind of vibe here. Should be a huge album.

Anyone know anything about the cover image?

Is that a famous statue I should know? Any Romanesque or Renaissance art historians among us?

Lotts of slow ones that are melodically unambitious and existentially depressed. An album of Sugar Babys. Hope I'm wrong.

It's really cool that you figured that out just by the tracklisting. Really.

That is the worst cover art of all time.

Questions... can Bob's voice stand up to the another album? Can his lyrics improve from the last outing? Can he get anywhere near L&T or TOOM?

Not 100% sure, but it looks like it could be Bernini's Ecstasy of St. Theresa.

Really? You haven't seen a lot of album covers then. Check 'Satan Is Real' by the Louvrin Brothers for example.

I think you're whinging for the sake of whinging, aren't you?

Cheers, SLuggy

I actually really like the cover art. Reminds me of a 70's film.

The art kinda reminds me of a crappy romance novel.

Not quite, you're listening to a tune by Gene Austin!
Every moment of existence is like some dirty trick:
Gene Austin 'Lonesome Road'

btw i have no moral issue with this kind of lovin' theft, but if i want antique i think the original holds up just fine

No, it really is terrible. It looks like Bob drew it in MS Paint, or like the cover of a 1980s B-grade drama movie. I disliked the cover art/style of Together Through Life, but this is another level of mediocrity.

I checked out "Satan Is Real". Frankly, a picture of Bob in a white suit standing around with the Devil would be a way better cover.

Not whinging, I'm excited about any new material.

Actually, listening to a tune by Nathaniel Shilkret, to which Gene Austin wrote words.

Fight pedantry with pedantry!

From the Bob Dylan Examiner:
"Critic Brett Milano has pointed out The Tempest is generally believed to be Shakespeare's last play." :o

Whatever happened to Scott Litt's rumored involvement?

The same thing that happened to Rollin and Tumblin! Words and music by Bob Dylan

^^ Gulp !! ....let's hope that doesn't mean what we think it does!

Okay...here's a picture of Bernini's St. Therese.
Looks similar to the album cover, but the head
is tilted the wrong way...and the album cover's
statue doesn't have that veil wrapped all around her
neck. Looks like it could be the right sculptor, though.

i remember last time Bob had a Sept 11th release date....

seems like most artists would avoid that date, push it back or forward a week.
but i like it, dont look back

hm, they could've reversed it. They did that with the pic on his debut album. But St. Theresa's hair is not visible, so it's probably not Bernini's statue.

I agree - was about to post something similar.

Also, statue on the cover appears to be bare shouldered.

^ look at the necks ....totally different, don't you think?
i don't see a veil on the album cover's statue's neck.
Bernini's statue has a scarf wrapped almost up to her chin.

Looks like it could be another of Bernini's statues, though.

I'm going to send this album cover to my sister...she works in
an art museum and might recognize the statue.
