Someone on the MK team is going to post a tour diary on his website. Might be interesting, even if he will not get much Dylan content.

It's Guy Fletcher's diary - he plays keyboards in MK's band!

'Dear Diary! This old man is so mean to my boss and the rest of us. He doesn't let us use his PA and we had to negotiate very had until he decided to let us use the stage. Now he insists that we sweep it up before he comes on stage… and the tour hasn't even begun…'

btw: Does anybody remember the legendary 'Tony's tour diary'??

Well, you could take a look at one of the previous year's tour diaries to get a general idea of his style! :)

The 2010 MK tour diary is full of trip and backstage pictures. So it may be interesting to have a look to things you usualy do not see. Let's hope Bob and his band play some role in the story.

Dear diary,

Mark was thrilled with the audience tonight, especially the group of hot cougars on the rail. He was a bit deflated when he realized they were just there waiting to see Bob...

HOT cougars? Where, when? I bet Mark'll think:"Gee, and I thought playing to balding men way past their prime was bad enough, but poor Bob has to put up with all these crazy ageing housewifes!"

Quite amusing too that people on here don't even know who Guy Fletcher is.

As well as Guy Fletcher's diary, Richard Bennett (rhythm guitar) also will write a diary "Notes From the Road" which is always worth reading!

This sounds great. So pleased these guys from MK.com turned up.

Is someone with even grade z access to Dylan going to post something? As much as I would like to hear about the support act and how they double dipped Bob's teabag...

Thanks for the link, JP - I plan on checking in on his blog during the tour - didn't even know it existed until you posted that - went back and reviewed his prior journals - love the pictures and stories!

judging from last tours diary that was archived it will be interesting to follow things via the Knopfler camp.

Here was Guy Fletcher's from yesterday about setting up the hall:

Eventhough the Bob content is little it's quite fascinating to read these...

Keyboard player Guy Fletchers diary here:

and the guitarist Richard Bennetts diary:

As I posted in the Nottingham thread, I just had a good laugh.... MK's Guy guy thinks Bob's band rehearsed Red Sails In The Sunset in Nottingham. Of course, it must have been the appropriated Beyond The Horizon. Get familiar with the catalogue, Guy!

Quote:
Bob's band are onstage, obviously working up some new arrangements, we hear what sounds distinctly like 'Red sails In The Sunset'.

Also, he crossed Bob's path and Bob refused to smile. Exact same thing once happened to me, just I was on a boat instead backstage. We made eye contact and I smiled and he didn't.

Quote:
In my time 'hanging around' behind the stage waiting for our turn to s'check, BD walks by. I catch his eye and offer a smile.... which isn't returned. It would be wrong of me to judge anyone over such an insignificant moment...I look forward to possibly being introduced one day. I guess that in his lifetime, he's met enough people and has decided that he doesn't want to meet any more, either that or he's just plain shy. Yes, that must be it.

i started to follow GF´s diary and think it is a really interesting thing. also loved those quotes from today:
Quote:
Apologies to my hardened followers for the lack of decent photographs, I'm still keeping a low profile around the gigs with the camera until we all get to know each other more, especially in light of the BD camera policy. In actual fact, the sight of the camera strap over my shoulder could easily have explained Bob's unwillingness to smile earlier. Fair play.
Haha

cool that he seems to write an entry every single day of the tour, and that he even answers the questions of his fans in the "forum" corner of his website!
