Amnesty International...Some googling around tells me that Rise Against has recorded Ballad of Hollis Brown, and Lucinda Williams has recorded Tryin' to Get to Heaven (on her Facebook page). Can't wait to hear that! Also, Bad Religion will be contributing a track to this compilation (out on Nov. 22). Anyone else know anything else?

Since everyone seems so interested, here's what I've gathered so far:

Adele - Make You Feel My Love
Lucinda Williams - Tryin' to Get to Heaven
Rise Against - Ballad of Hollis Brown
Kesha - Don't Think Twice It's Alright
My Morning Jacket - You're a Big Girl Now
Jack's Mannequin - Mr. Tambourine Man
Patti Smith - Drifter's Escape

Others contributing:
Sting
Dave Matthews Band
Bad Religion
Darren Criss

Amnesty International is putting out a tribute album of Dylan covers to celebrate Bob's 70th birthday & its 50th anniversary. It's like the Instant Karma one they put out for John Lennon a couple of years ago.

How can this be??? I've heard it from numerous "experts" right here on this site that Bob's songs dealing with human rights are pretty trivial, and really didn't have much influence at all. You think I'm going to take Amnesty International's word over these experts? No way!!

The Lennon tribute was awesome. Great interpretations (mostly). If they can produce something on that level again, we're in for a real-

If it's a stripped-down acoustic thing, her way of proving that she "is too!" an artist, maybe it won't be so bad. But if it's like THIS...

...Imma slap a bitch.

Yeah, it's a nice rendition, but enough is enough. I'd rather the slot be given to an interpretation made specifically for this project.

the Kronos Quartet's cover of Don't Think Twice should also be interesting.

Wow, that's a lot of songs! Some things will be quite interesting to hear (Sting, Knopfler, Flogging Molly, Costello), others not so much (Chemical Romance, Kesha, Cyrus). But I'll definitely give it a listen when it comes out.

An intriguing lineup, lots and lots of it too, sounds like fun - and it's for a good cause, I'll be getting my copy! :)
