I just counted Bob's 2011 shows listed on Bob Links and it seems Bob will only manage to get in 90 shows this year.

I know usually he seems keen to get the 100 shows under his belt but not this year it seems.

Maybe the Far East/Australia tour in the beginning of the year cost the time for the missing 10 concerts?

Or maybe the old Bobster is getting soft in his 70's??

This year has only 89 shows. This is the least amount of concerts Dylan had performed during the Never Ending Tour since 1996.

He seems to be slowing down. Even with this current tour and especially with the 2011 Summer US.

We shall see when anything for 2012 gets announced :) (I'm hoping next month or so )

In the meantime, yes, it seems like he is slowing down a bit, less songs, etc, but as everyone has mentioned; it's something about his performances, even if he get relatively the same songs; their presentation is just breathtaking, but like I've mentioned; we shall see what he announces in the hopefully near future.

If he continues in the near 90 range that's still pretty damned good. No complaints here.
Who else is doing that at 70+ years, besides maybe BB King or Chuck Berry? Bill Monroe did it till he dropped at age 85-ish.
There's probably others...

Fewest number of shows AND the shortest list of different songs performed at 59. I am hoping this is an indication of a studio release next year... the last time things got stagnant we got Modern Times.

The Spring tour (and the first week of the Euro Summer Tour had lots of days off for geographical reasons, as there were many travel days. Whteher that's just a conincidence or if he toured these countries to avoid back-to-back shows I don't know.

This year was the first since 1966 (not counting 19084, because that wasn't a World Tour as such) where he played more shows outside the US than in North America, so next year is bound to have more US shows and then we'll see if he really is slowing down.

Yes, the only item I've noticed, well, not so much this tour, but the Summer US is he look(ed)(s) tired. but yes, the performances are just amazing :)

and it was a little odd to see a short set early in summer. Amazing rotation of songs and performances. The US tour was great as well, but it just seemed a little different than the ballpark shows, but this was a good 'thing' & the performances were spot on each night.

with Mark on this tour; Bob looks like he is having a lot of fun & he and Mark planned this tour.

It just makes you excited for what is in store for next year.

If there is a new record out it will be really wonderful as well as I can't get enough of his Hank Williams song from the new album.

& who knows, maybe we will get Chronicles next year!! :D

People are having incredible experiences at these brilliant concerts, it would be better if you just accepted it.
You only have one thing to say, and it's been established that pre-determined repetitive negativity is tedious. You have been overthrown.

If there's an original thought out there, you could use it right now...

Bob Dylan is lazy. Let's face it.

I also have had incredible experiences at these brilliant concerts along with these people. Meanwhile you have instead churned out repetitive hatred with a superiority complex.

You sarcastically infer it's not a great time to be alive. But it IS a great time to be alive, and unlike your good self - to be busy being born 8)

Yeah, I can see how having amazing experiences attending brilliant concert performances by 70 year old Bob Dylan could be seen as akin to being born.

Good 8) I pity those who aren't busy being born, but it doesn't dampen the beauty.

I went to both the Melbourne and Sydney shows this year and LOVED both of them.

I usually enjoy the first show I see more than the subsequent shows when I see Bob play in a row, and the same was true this year. Melbourne was just awesome and the Sydney show was just a notch under that in my opinion but I think this is a natural consequence of me being more hyped for the first show. Sure Bob's voice is a bit croaky at times but he still delivers the goods.

I live in Brisbane and it was almost a 4,000 kms round-trip drive to see Bob this year. And worth every cent!
