I don't think it's got anything to do with the heat. It can easily get that warm in Southern Europe in June and July.

To bath in such a series in a stream of pure heat would be delightful.

Sunset, Best regards from san Sebastián . Love what you say about my town. Also have to tell you there are two concert promoters trying to catch the fish for this summer. Also Elliot Murphy will be here next week! If you ever come back around here it will be a pleasure to welcome you!

In general terms it is, the problem is they have bad weather whenever Bob performs there.

When I was in Bergen last year, it was an outdoor concert and it was pouring down, when Bob hit the stage the sky cleared and the sun came up. It was like the Gods wanted to watch, it didn't start raining again that day either. Great show! 8)

^ And Bergen is known for being the rainiest city in Norway! :)

That's not true - Milano last year in June was hot like hell !
Nevertheless I must admit at the Bergamo-Show it was raining cats and dogs - but the show was great fun as Bob was playing one "rain"-song after the other (maybe 6 or 7 in a row).

Yes, seeing Bob in the rain was never a deterrence for me either.

Not at all. Stra is one of my favorite concert memories. I wish they wouldn't have had to move the Piazzola concert of '10 indoors. It was a nice lil venue.

I'm willing to bet on the usual June/July tour.

I would, too. Most of the major festivals, that seem to be Bob's main motivation to tour Europe in the summer take place in June and July. Playing here in August would mean either a shift towards smaller village type festivals like the one mentioned for Italy or a really long June to August tour, which seems unlikely after 50+ shows in Europe in '11.

A four week tour concentrating on markets left out in '11 seems like the safest bet for the time being.

How do 44 dates add up to 50+?

Usually, European summer tours seem to be build around two or three festival, with lots of non-festival, Bob-only concerts between them.

Bob has been in the United States while on tour during each U.S. presidential election since 1992. All of 'em: 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008. In 1988 the U.S. fall tour was already over by election day.

I never realized this before I looked into it today. Quite a tradition he has going!!

Maybe an image from the recent Scorcese performance would work.

Reusing the Milton Glaser poster would be cool too.
