You're welcome Ray. I've just been on your site again and found "Nevermore". Just beautiful.
http://www.rkart.co.uk/cgi-bin/cart.cgi?pid=132I thought you were a guy. My son in law is named Ray. Not that it matters. I did feel that
the cats were a feminine inspiration, but because of your name being "Ray" I discounted
my initial instinct. Silly me. I even have a granddaughter named Ray and another named Raven.
Anyway, I hope you get more responses to this thread, you, your work deserves the attention.
I also checked out Wendell Baily's work. Hope I'm spelling her name correctly.
Another very talented artist, she is. Best wishes to you both.
Also, just remembered, there is a thread in the Off Topic section where you can post
your work if you are so inclined. It's called "A Thread For Posting Your Drawings, Paintings, Creations"
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=68772&start=75Hi. Your comments are interesting to me. 'Nevermore' and the figures in the painting are the re-working, in my own way, of Paul Gauguin's painting 'Nave Nave Mahana' - (Delightful Day') - not delightful in my painting but the arrangement of figures, trees and landscape are the same. My painting is about an invasion by strange alien beings set upon destroying the land and its inhabitants. The raven (Raven is a lovely name for your daughter) on the branch is taken from another Gauguin painting where he, G, has painted the word 'Nevermore' - evidently a reference to E. A. Poe's poem. Strange where inspiration comes from! I am always willing to discuss paintings but not on ER site unless it's the Dylan ones. My email address for other discussion is
raypaint@talktalk.net Thanks for looking at my websites. Wendell Bailey is a he and not a she. Proceeds from sale of my work help him to but his paints and canvas, and food. Thanks also for the link to the thread where i can display my Dylan paintings. cheers!
