THIS ONE"S GOING OUT TO UNTRODDEN PATH> who has obviously been waiting for me to post an album worthy of his attention.

ahem....Street ~ Legal

I've recently grown to appreciate the difference in attending to one side of a record, versus popping in a long CD that i pass in and out of attention with. and many dylan albums seem to be structured around these segments. so, i'm starting a poll series about preferred sides on vinyl. i'm not really centering on the value of any one song over the other, but rather how each side flows and stands coherently.

This was actually a tough choice! the only song on Street Legal i don't care for is 'NewPony'....
 so i went with Side B.
- Street Legal has always been one of my favorites....Changing of the Guard, Senor,
Where are You TOnight .....love 'em all! :D

As much as I love "Changing of the Guards", I still have to vote for side 2. "Senor", "Is Your Love in Vain", "True Love Tends To Forget", ... it's a pretty good side.

Side One has New Pony, one of the complete successes, plus the interesting messes of Guard and No Time

so it tops:

Side Two has We Better Talk and four flops, although Senor improved some in the remaster

It's all about Senor, but I'm a sucker for a parenthetical subtitle.

I went for side 1, but instantly changed my mind to side 2. I was foolishy to go for side one, I am not sure what I was thinking.

My thought exactly.
I can do without New Pony, for the rest.....all great songs.
Perfection would be:
Changin - Love - No Time - Journey

Side 1 for me -- probably because I never make it as far as Side 2. Senor is a good song though.

Side two is probably better and more consistent but Changing of the Guard is so much fun and one of my favorite album openers... It served as a great closer in concert as well.

I anticipate we could here it around July this year... pulled out, a handful of lyric changes, a one-off in celebration of the 16th anninversary release for Knocked Out Loaded. If he opens the show with it be on the look out for the number two slot...

They Killed Him, with Stu and Charlie doing background vocals! 8)

Side 1 has "Changing of the Guards", one of his best ever, side 2 has "Is Your Love In Vain"....

No contest.

Every song on this album is perfect, my 4th favourite Dylan album.

I went with side 2.

Very difficult choice, flip-flopping back and forth.
Changing, Pony...No Time, Where Are You.
Side A, no B, no A, no B..damn
