In an unprecedented move the South American Web Sheriff has decreed that 'Live Dylan Set Lists' will be NOT be allowed to leave South American airwaves, radio waves, cell tower waves or even satellite dish waves. The Sheriff himself was quoted as saying, disapprovingly, that "these so-called fans ain't seen nuthin' yet because South America takes Bob's privacy serious enough to NOT allow any texting, emailing, tweeting, chirping, peeping squawking or communications of any kind during the shows. We've got money to make and can't take the risk that someone who didn't pay our exhorbitant prices is going to hear about these shows, especially in real-time. Those found in non-compliance will be prosecuted to the full extant of the law!"

Maybe that's why no one is stepping up with only a few days left until the 2012 tour kicks off.

Who wrote that?
Impolite way to say: unfortunately we can't transmit the set-list on real time.

 Why not just let those people enjoy the shows? I wouldn't want to be texting either while Bob is on stage.

I know. I apologize.
Just my own frustration due to my South American plans falling through and getting the best of me. I really don't expect someone do something what they don't want to do. Believe me, I understand that it's hassle enough just getting inside the place, never mind having to worry about being a world messenger.

We'll get to enjoy the anticipation this time until the esteemed Mr P posts the setlist, just like in the not too distant olden days.

Yeah, technology screws with reality. We wbecome conditioned to want it all and want it now.
Reminds me a little bit of Joe Walsh's 'Analog Man', which is set for release in June.

There is a man standing behind me with a subpoena in case I mention that Bob Dylan exists.

Or is it a figment of my imagination?

The best part of live setlists are the misunderstandings!

Remember last year when we thought he played Jokerman?

Or when someone thought he played Subterranean Homesick Blues but it was really Thunder?

I LOVED those shows last year!! There was definitely a horse and a monkey somewhere - I sincerely hope that this year's shows are as entertaining!

Ok, let's start the rumors flying now..... they are not letting live set list because they are not going to recognize some of the songs because they are going to be from the new album!!!!

*** you can only post totally made up stuff here!!!! We do not want any real information...... :D

One would think so, yes. Why not enjoy it a bit before blasting off?

I'm heading down to Buenos Aires and I've been giving some thought on how I could simultaneously:
a) enjoy the show without any distractions
b) get in a good recording
c) report live setlist back to ER without disturbing the people seated around me

It just doesn't seem possible to do all three :( i.e. I can't devote all my attention to the stage if I'm constantly having to play with my phone. And the cellular service will probably interfere with my microphone thereby ruining my recording! Also the only time I supplied a live setlist (Chastain Park, ATL 2011), the lady sitting next to me (who was very polite) seemed a little annoyed at me because I was taking my phone out to text each time a song ended. She didn't complain but I couldn't help but feel bad about it. If only there is a way for me to be more discrete...

Any suggestions on how I can maybe make all of this happen are welcomed. Tips from experienced tapers would also be much appreaciated!! Post here or please feel free to contact me via PM.
Thank you!
h-m

I'd take a recording over a live set list.

Thanks, h-m.......you just enjoy the show!! I don't think I could do all of those things and still be in the moment. As much fun as the live set lists are, it shouldn't take away from your enjoyment of show.

Sending in setlists isn't a big distraction if you do it right. I've sent in a lot of them in to ER. I text between songs.
