Sad, sad day - only Garth & Robbie left now.

At least we still have the music

It's a sad day indeed, though we knew it was coming.

I regret never making it up for a Midnight Ramble, I live less than 6 hours away.

On the other notes, Robbie just looks like an old Chinese woman these days, but his new album wasn't too bad.

What's Garth up to?

RIP Levon
Thanks for the music - I'm sure you'll be welcome to the great jam session in Heaven

Through the years, through the tears
They've gone one by one
But they'll wait at the gate
Until our race is run

Years and years ago, Rick Danko was still alive, had tickets to see The Band/Acoustic Hot Tuna share a billing in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Show was cancelled about 2 weeks prior to date. Never had another chance to see them. Still regret to this day.

Levon. We knew this was coming, but still sucks. Dammit.

Damn it. A bright light goes out. But, rather than sit here in the dark, here is Levon on fire:
Helm and the Cate Bros. from 1981, SCTV. "Sweet Peach Georgia Wine."

This is almost too sad for words. Levon, you were the voice behind my favorite songs of The Band. RIP; you will always be remembered and the best band ever, The Band, will never be forgotten. I hope you end up in some Big Pink in the sky doing what you did best and that I will see you again some day. Love You Forever, Joanna XOXOX

a sad day indeed. his drumming totally impressed me. i loved his voice -- and as a person, he is one of the best -- kind, sensitive, gentle, caring, funny... my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends at this time. I know he must be very missed.

Rest in peace, Levon, may God watch over you up there in heaven.

The world has lost a brilliant singer and musician and the town of Woodstock has lost a founding father and part of its very soul...

Some great videos of the Midnight Rambles were posted on youtube, many featuring Larry Campbell. They did a very fine job on Blind Willie McTell. For years I'd hoped Bob would bring Levon along or play with him again. Now we'll have to wait for the reunion on the other side...

Levon was an interesting character and a hard working and talented musician. We've lost a great one.
