how could there be 300 % more responses then votes? this is a silly fight, but an interesting poll.

Aren't you supposed to be knocking that quote into a cocked hat? :(

I think it's a fair enough poll, but if they can't build a time machine that takes you back to one of the Rolling Thunder Revues then I don't know why we're even bothering. Who are we flying with here? Easyjet?
I want a First Class ticket (doesn't have to be a return) to Montreal, 4th December 1975, please, then a seat next to Leonard Cohen if possible.

Will you be building the loft on this time machine? it would be our pleasure if that's the case!

Hate? Nothing to do with hate- everything to do with taste.

Left unsaid is that you have good taste & nobody else here does. I agree that Bob of 1966 is far superior to Bob of today. But nobody should have to defend or apologize for his or her tastes in music. There's enough music to go around for everybody. The attitude that somebody would come here & purport to educate the unwashed masses until they're completely converted to having "good" musical taste gets tiresome. As if anybody is going to abandon the music they like just because some guy on the internet says so. I guess next we go to all the Justin Bieber message boards & tell the kiddies that there's a whole world of music out there that they're missing.

i found one reasonable post, which ironically, hardly got any reply action. people must like to fight!

incidentally, i didn't vote according to any sense of musical interest. i merely chose to be a part of something we can all agree was a historical moment - and also, something i really haven't experienced. who knows if i'd enjoy myself, especially if the floors of those theaters where as sticky then as they are now....

I just found this and thought it fits in this thread nicely - no offense intended.

Train-ride - i don't understand the phrase in your post, could you clarify? all i got was the frown, so i apologize for whatever lead to that.

To me there's no need to tear down his early work in order to praise his later material, although some people do put it on a pedestal while ripping everything he's since, which is ridiculous and might bring out that response.

another nice one slips through the cracks. sounds like everyone has very sensitive ears when it comes to recordings, but not the most sensitive eyes when it means stopping themselves in their tracks....
