how could there be 300 % more responses then votes? this is a silly fight, but an interesting poll.

I think it's a fair enough poll, but if they can't build a time machine that takes you back to one of the Rolling Thunder Revues then I don't know why we're even bothering. Who are we flying with here? Easyjet?
I want a First Class ticket (doesn't have to be a return) to Montreal, 4th December 1975, please, then a seat next to Leonard Cohen if possible.

Left unsaid is that you have good taste & nobody else here does. I agree that Bob of 1966 is far superior to Bob of today. But nobody should have to defend or apologize for his or her tastes in music. There's enough music to go around for everybody. The attitude that somebody would come here & purport to educate the unwashed masses until they're completely converted to having "good" musical taste gets tiresome. As if anybody is going to abandon the music they like just because some guy on the internet says so. I guess next we go to all the Justin Bieber message boards & tell the kiddies that there's a whole world of music out there that they're missing.

I know he does charity things, privately in most cases, and I admire him all the more for not saying, oh look at me and all the good I'm doing.

I just found this and thought it fits in this thread nicely - no offense intended.

To me there's no need to tear down his early work in order to praise his later material, although some people do put it on a pedestal while ripping everything he's since, which is ridiculous and might bring out that response.
