I'm sure there are many places in the world people get their info about dylan. I have my go-tos, but i am always amazed to find more great dylan websites that are up and going. this thread is for indexing great dylan sites. please give a descriptor with your links so people don't have to waste time clicking to find one they aren't interested in....

one of my favorites, if ER gets dry with info, is this one. Their daily videos are pretty good, and it's a nice organized account of where dylan is being discussed in the news.

have you been to the Paris exhibit? really interested to hear how it was/is...

Yes, i went there. It was kind of boring. Nothing new, only the 62/66 period. It's great if you're discovering Dylan but if you're already a fan, it's boring. But with the exhibit, there was several live shows and they were great. Herman Düne (amazing band) was covering the entire "Shot of Love" album. Beautiful.

I only like this Dylan site... no others, just this one... this site fills me with elation, happiness and joy every day. It is such a wonderful site that it makes me feel like dancing every time I check in... and not just ordinary dancing... no, no, no... frantic, energy-filled, frenetic whirling pirouettetic dancing... other Dylan site's don't even make me want to tap my toes!

With all due respect to ER, in my opinion, the most important Dylan website is Eyolf's Dylanchords. I also think that Olof's Files is a great resource providing a very detailed yearly chronicle of Dylan's career.

Eyolf and Olof are fine, but what about Forkoff's site?

i presume dylan's chords is music related? as in, it has the chord progressions for his songs?

Dylanchords is slighty more than that. It has accurate tablature of every single officially released Dylan song and most of the bootlegs too. Anyone who plays guitar knows how difficult it is to get accurate tabs of songs (even purchasing them can be very difficult).

If you really want to understand the "music" part of Dylan's music, Dylanchords is really the only complete & accurate resource available anywhere (that I am aware of) showing what Dylan actually played and how he played it although it is guitar focused (rather than piano or full band arrangements) with particular focus on the arrangements of his solo folk guitar work, including things like the finger picking or flat picking patterns used, where the Capo is on the guitar, how the guitar is tuned (standard, open, alternative tunings), etc. I would expand further and say that Dylanchords is a wonderful tool for just learning about how to play guitar in a variety of folk styles.

Dylanchords also has a number of essays analysing various aspects of Dylan's music. However, as mentioned, its chief strength lies in its tabs. I really can't recommend it enough.

I was able to save to disc in ZIP the tabs and all, before it became .info.

I pretty much learned to play guitar from Dylanchords... from starting off on one or two of the simpler ones I must have now played every tab on that site! An unhealthy love of Dylan + a guitar + Dylanchords + a few years = a pretty good comprehension of how to play the guitar.
