Oh really? Was she somehow involved with Bob? I haven't read her book yet.

Pamela Des Barres is one of my favorites and she did the things I wanted to do when I was young! To hang out at The Roxy and The Whiskey was a dream I never got to do; I had a child instead and I don't regret that at all, but I still wish I had gone to Hollywood to live. I have all of her books and they are all interesting and fun to read and I am glad Bob liked them. Love, Joanna XOXO

Memoirs of her life as a groupie and rockstar wife.

She was a famous groupie so her first book is about her younger days hanging out with Jim Morrison, Gram Parsons, Jimmy Page and the rest of The Mighty Zep and numerous other musicians. She was Jimmy's girlfriend (kind of; he had a few others on the side too) and she lived in Frank Zappa's house and was the nanny for his children. She was a member of the GTOs (Girls Together Outrageously) and was known as Miss Pamela; the band was invented by Zappa. She also went out with Don Johnson until Melanie Griffin came along and took him away. Her 2nd or 3rd book is mainly about her marriage with Michael Desbarres who used to play in the bands Detective and Power Station and their son, but there are still lots of rock stories. Then she wrote a book called Rock Bottom about some of the sad and bad stories of rock and roll. She also wrote a book about the various rock muses and super groupies she had known. I see her last year. It was magic.
It's funny because yersterday i was thinking to ask you if you will go to see her, or if you have ever see her. And today, i read this.
I was wondering, too, if there is already an open thread about her around here ?
