If the timings are correct that would leave the remaining tracks with an average length of just over 5.5mins each

Not necessarily, there could be long silences between the songs, you know, for added gravitas.

Long album, short album, I'm hoping for the best.

We need a new thread title- good chance people are missing out on new album updates because people like me keep tagging new bits and pieces on to the end of this one...sorry.

It's a good point. I think most people will presume that this refers to one of ER's most respected posters, and primary source of Kenny Rogers news, whilst making unwarranted speculation of a personal nature.

Mr Jones is not now getting to hear it, apparently, or at least hasn't yet.

Hmm... I'm not so sure if this is what ISIS actually stated.

What they said was this:

"Next, it was leaked on the Internet that Uncut’s Alan Jones would get to hear the album week commencing May 14. It’s not certain that any such a listening session actually took place."

That, to me at least, seems to means that they couldn't get Allan Jones to go on record as having heard the album yet.

That is consistent with what he told me earlier in the month when he said he wouldn't say anything publicly about the album "until 'they' tell me that I can."

As it is, I think that it's funny that the word "leaked" has been used by ISIS with regards to my post - I didn't leak anything - I simply passed along what I had been told by Mr Jones to my fellow Dylan fans. Leaking something to me would be defined as posting something prior to its release - like streaming a bit of a song before the record was actually ready, etc.

Anyway, time will tell whether Mr Jones did hear the songs this month or whether the plans fell through but I don't think that we can definitively say, based on the ISIS update, that he hasn't heard the album already.

What is certain is that ISIS has some great information about the album which has got my excitement level quite high to be sure.

I have it on good authority that, due to the posting on here about the planned listening session, the same was delayed. It seems Bob's people were not please with the story making the net.

Well in that case I suppose that Allan Jones will never talk to me again! That's a shame really, I certainly liked speaking with him and didn't mean to get him into any hot water.

He also didn't, as I posted on this thread before, ask me to keep what I told him a secret, etc. and he certainly knows how we Dylan fans can be when given even the slightest bit of information.

Surprising to note that "Bob's people" would react to something like this at all and so swiftly at that.

By my calculation this post went up about two days before the listening was scheduled to occur.

Moving right along, what really matters is the album and preliminary indications are pointing towards something interesting it would appear!

Even though he didn't ask you to keep it secret, he probably didn't think it would appear so prominently on the biggest Dylan fan site.

My background is not in marketing but I'm at something of a loss about how the revelation that a prominent music magazine editor was going to hear the album in the near future, without commenting at all re its content, is somehow damaging or justifies raising the ire of Bob's people. If anything, I thought it would be good publicity and would nicely whet the appetite for further detail to come in due course.

Either the guy x Jones' chances by blabbing, or he didn't.

Who cares either way?

It would matter if you had confidence that the person was trustworthy and they betrayed that trust. Maybe he had already been asked not to say anything. Who knows. What we do know is that Bob has always been suspicious of the media. Either way, it's a shame.

Maybe it is similar to hearing that you weren't invited to a wedding...but so-and-so was. Perhaps "Bob's People" started getting phone calls!

Usually, with most things Bob, it is quietly understood that you don't talk.

The irony is that Bob Dylan loves to share others' stories, down to the most intimate details!

If it didn't happen because the story made the net, then someone needs to tell Dylan or his people to wise up and have a word with themselves... it's 2012, when Dylan shits it makes the net. What intolerable egos these people have. When the album is out they won't be able to get enough net mentions... good for the google rankings and sales. J. Parker, please tell us your "good authority" and damn the consequences.
