Here are the only songs Bob's done on an official release (I don't want to judge him on the stuff he elected not to release) that I actually dislike the experience of listening to. Though amongst the rest some tracks are obviously better than others (in some case by a looooooong way), all his other songs have something worthwhile to offer, in my opinion.

I Can't Help Falling In Love With You
If Dog's Run Free
In Search of Little Sadie
In The Summertime
It's All Good
Let's Stick Together
Little Sadie
Maybe Someday
Mr Bojangles
Neighborhood Bully
Ninety Miles and Hour (Down A Dead End Street)
O' Come All Ye Faithful
Rainy Day Women #12 & 35
Sally Sue Brown
Saving Grace
Shenandoah
Something's Burning Baby
T.V. Talkin' Song
The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest
The First Noel
2 X 2
The Ugliest Girl In The World
Union Sundown
When The Night Comes Falling From the Sky
Wiggle Wiggle
You Wanna Ramble

Everything else, whack it on the stereo and let's have a party!

My choice, too.

"Ugliest Girl in the World" is my 2nd choice. Downright embarrassing.

Interesting thread. I think "Brownsville Girl" and "Dark Eyes" are two of his very best songs. Strange how people who listen to the same music can be so far apart........

I forfot my list of 10-12 "skip" songs, also add Gospel Plow and Freight Train Blues. I do really like the first album however, overall. MEZ

Sometimes I get the impression you'd rather have him quit touring altogether....

Of all the studio cuts I've heard so far, the following are those I have the hardest time sitting through:

Ballad in Plain D
It could've been bearable at a quarter of the length...

Girl from the North Country (Nashville Skyline version)
All the poignancy of the Freewheelin' masterpiece is gone, just totally gone.

If Dogs Run Free
It'd be fine without the scatting, but sadly said scatting is so bad that it ruins the whole thing.

With God on Our Side
Way too easy, and embarrassingly exploitative too. My least favorite Bob song, at least as of now.

There are several others I don't especially care for, but these are the only ones I'd really just rather do without.

I always liked "Ballad in Plain D" a lot. One problem with that song and several other ones from the album is that some of the lyrics needed revising. "A magnificent mantelpiece though its heart being chipped", "My pathway led by confusion boats, mutiny from stern to bow", etc.

He was starting to fall into that trap in '64-'65, he needed some 'lectric chargin' to set his statuesque cruel gates back on the hollering rosebush's prickly thorns.

Ballad in Plain D is embarrassing. Nothing comes close for me.

Everything else is at least interesting to me for one reason or another.

One More Cup of Coffee (his voice it trembles tra la la)
Stop Crying
Slow Train
Trouble (the absolute worst)
Death is not the End (still think this is revenge on Sony/Columbia for something or other)
Workingman's Blues (a very long fall from his early days; c'mon and just spit it out)

i must say there were no songs i really couldn't stand before the *crooning* period.

Yes, I dislike wanna ramble, ugliest girl, too, as most of us, but i actually do not skip them when listening to an album.

the only dylan songs i really can't stand came to light in 2001 with L&T (a very good album, per se....were it only for the presence of Mississippi & Sugar Baby).
but I can't really stand listening to:

Bye & Bye
Floater
Moonlight (!!!)
When The Deal Goes Down
Beyond The Horizon (!!!)
Life Is Hard
