Yep they were played on those tours but not really since.

BTW JP - with reference to Isis comment I don't hate you (or anyone) just want to have the debate. We aint gonna agree I guess. I might go away and have another go with modbob but only if you promise to dig out H61R and TURN IT UP!

I will. As I said, it's not that I don't like the songs as such, but the attitude that everybody seems to love about mid-'60s Bob just isn't for me. As an album, I prefer BIABH, esp Tambourine Man, Love Minus Zero, and SHB. I wish he'd revisit those in concert. After all, he does LARS, Des Row, HWY and Mr Jones all the time.... though he does a mean Mr Jones these days, every bit as bad as back in the day.

Looked through my collection and surprisingly, Freewheelin' may be the one I listen to the least; think I'll throw it on after the Hard Rain vinyl-rip.

Infidels.. I love that album, though. It just never seems to find its way to the top of my listening stack.

He just prefers the modern stuff from Bob, my dad does too, and he's a big of fan of Dylan just as much as me. Anyway his modern is some of his best work he's done, Love and Theft is a masterpiece, same for Modern Times, and Time Out of Mind, and regardless what anyone says TTL is a beautiful work of art. Some of "ModBobs" best songs for me are;

"Bye & Bye"
"Floater"
"Moonlight"
"Po' Boy"
"Sugar Baby"
"Standing in the Doorway"
"Love Sick"
"Highlands"
"Make You Feel My Love"
"Sprit On The Water"
"Ain't Talkin"
"Nettie Moore"
"Beyond Here Lie's Nothin"
"Life Is Hard"
"Forgetful Heart"
"I Feel A Change Coming On"

all the albums are masterpieces. I've said this before and I'll say it again, every release he's ever done to me is a beautiful masterpiece, Bob is my god, he's all I listen to. And I listen to every album he's done all with equal respect. There's not one song he's done you can't say a good thing about. But hey, that's my opinion. Just like all yours.

This is just a feast of wrong.

Isis_, never mind people congratulating each other for not liking Bob's more recent work. I don't know, and don't care to know, if they would have preferred him to stay shrouded in early 1990s obscurity - I for one am more than happy he's still doing brilliant work.

racism is worse than sexism. it impacts two sexes instead of just one...

I really think New Morning and PG&BTK are my least played...

and 'at least it's not sexist' is a profoundly off based way to justify a verbal misstep.

i just played desire yesterday because i was cleaning - but it is my third least played. i spun the hell out of in high school, and i'm rarely in the nostalgic mood to hear it again. when i do, i usually start with Isis...

i do like to play it when i clean because that's when i used to play it in high school...

but i play down in the groove more often, because i'm always curious to take another peak. there are still lyrics i haven't heard (really heard) on it...

I didn't justify it, since it was no offense. Ben was trying to toy with me. Other than the Star of David that Bob wore on the same tour, the headdress never appeared like a religious or cultural symbol. It was just a substitute for the flowery hat. I don't think everything he does has that deep a level of meaning.

And at this point, I'm leaving another argument.

Can honestly say that it is ages since I last sat down, stuck in a CD and listened to any of the studio albums tbqh.

Empire Burlesque was always the most disappointing release for me, as I felt it was the one time in his career that Bob sold out and tried to fit into the current times (starting with that jacket on the cover shot - really Bob ?) rather than going his own way.

I sometimes forget that Down in the Groove exists, even though I don't completely hate it.

Since i moved house and didn't take my record player i'm stuck with my small cd collection. But if i had them all the least played would be : Budokan, Bob Dylan and the dead, Under the red sky, Knocked out loaded, Xmas in the heart, Unplugged, Down in the groove, Real live, Saved, Slow train coming, Desire, Self Portrait, Slow train coming, , Together through life..

less least played: Dylan, Bob Dylan, Infidels, Empire Burlesque, GAIBTY, world gone wrong, Pat Garrett.
The rest quite frequently

We all have a different list, but i see overall tendencies. Arguments are useless

Down In The Groove. Great album, love it. But it's my least favourite Bob Dylan. Still got some great tracks on there.

I threw away all the discs I never played, so the shite list from Mr. Precarious have gone in the bin, along with compilations, Budokan, Dylan and the Dead and probably a couple others.
The worst of the binned bunch being the Christmas debacle. That's certainly the worst album I have ever heard by anyone. Ever.
That bird who never listens to H61R and Desire is obviously having a wind up.

Hi Troub,
I wish you were here cleaning with me and YOU used to tease me about always cleaning! I still do, just don't tell you guys. I need to go and really clean up my house that has been pretty much vacant for a few months and we could listen together IF we ever stopped talking. I have a feeling we would talk a lot. I don't play Down In The Groove very often and I have NEVER played Dylan with The Grateful Dead - did you say it was pretty good? I know somebody did. Someday soon I will be able to listen to music ALL the time!! :D Hope you are doing well. Love, Joanna XOXO

Down in the Groove, for sure. Or perhaps in my parlance Down in the Pile[like rock bottom]. Damn the completest in me. At least it was a used copy I purchased.

The Christmas album thing is the least played chez Hamilton-Smith as it is impossible to listen to, even as a joke, much the same as Dylan concerts of the last few years are impossible to listen to. I assume the Christmas record WAS a joke - but the concerts? Is the money going to charity?

Benny tells me he has been banned, by the way. Just so you know.

I've played Christmas in the Heart once. That was plenty for me.
