List/ Dylan and the Grammys (1963-95) [Revised & Updated]

I worked through the Grammys section of ~Variety: Major U.S. Showbusiness
Awards~, ed. Mike Kaplan (New York: Garland Publishing, 1982) and noted
all Dylan-related entries. I list them here. The Grammys began in 1958.
The ~Variety~ book goes through 1980. Awards are for the year that an
album or song is released. Entries marked with an asterisk (*) indicate
the category winner. --Mark

Other nominees? Winner?] This is wrong, er, right but wrong. It is a traditional album, but it was for some reason nominated as contemporary. Beats me. Nobody heard the album, they just presumed. Dylan lost to Nanci Griffith's Other Voices, Other Rooms which Dylan appeared on in harmonica form. Dylan was nominated also that year for best rock vocal group performance for My Back Pages with the other guys, I call them the 6 White Horses. Dylan lost both.
