“This time around Dylanesque used the same North East of England studio, Studio 64, with the same producer, going after that same warm sixties analogue sound, that some people like and some don't!! Once again over half the takes are completely live with the ghost vocals still intact. The opening track, Billy, although obviously influenced by the Dylan original, also takes on board the brilliant arrangement by the British band Rollin Thunder. Knockin' On Heaven's Door seemed to be the obvious track to follow it as they are the only two Dylan vocal performances from the soundtrack of the film Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid. Chronicles features three solo performances from Michael with The Times They Are A-Changin', Forever Young, and the only non-Dylan title, Pretty Polly - although this was a crowd favourite in Bob's Gaslight days. Dylanesque secured the services of British Folk and Blues veterans Louie la Grande and Stan Croft for a try at capturing some of the feel of Dylan's acoustic performances of late, with Tomorrow Is A Long Time. Scottish singer/songwriter Gerry Murphy was the big influence behind our version of Forever Young. Bob Dylan's music shall live forever.” -- Dylanesque
