Alan Lorber Orchesta
The Changing Times of Bob Dylan
(MGM SE-4647)
Also known as:
Lesley MillerThe Changing Times of Bob Dylan
Often erroneously credited to Lorber's wife Lesley Miller,  because of the notation on the single You Ain't Goin' Nowhere / Teach Me To Love You   (MGM K-14074),  which was credited to vocalist Miller
Alan Lorber, His Wife & His OrchestraThe Bob Dylan Songbook
Referenced in the MGM discography (Part 10) at
Both Sides Now Album Discographies site,  also numbered MGM SE-4647.
This is actually an early working title for the same album
.
The actual Dylan content of this album is still unknown, so it will remain here in the Mysteries section until that question is answered.

Thanks to Jason Speirs for the following information:

The Lesley Miller single: Top: A-side; Bottom: Detail of B-Side
“MGM did in fact release an album entitled "The Changing Times of Bob Dylan" by The Alan Lorber Orchestra (MGM SE-4647).   I cannot confirm if the album contained only Dylan material, however I can confirm that BSN's listing "Alan Lorber, His Wife & His Orchestra" is actually a early working title of the same release.   A "Special Disc Jockey" single was released to promote the album with Lorber's wife, Lesley Miller on vocals, however no other singles for this album were released.  Lesley Miller later divorced Alan Lorber and began a successful career as a back up singer performing on several Steely Dan records.  Lorber has recently re-released much of the "Boston Sound" material he had produced,  but not this single.”

The band Orpheus,  part of the "Boston Sound," had recorded a demo of the song, with a completely different arrangement,  that was reissued on a now unavailable fans-only CD called "Orpheus: From The Archives."

Alan Lorber was also the producer and arranger of  the 1966 albums:

Singin' Mike SingerSings The Songs of Bob Dylan
Based on:
1) A reference in the Dylan publication "The Bridge" that reported Singer was distributing CD copies of his 60's LPs. The e-mail address given is no longer valid.
2) A newsgroup posting dated 3/28/98,  posted by Mike Singer,  offered CD copies of his albums ("Sings The Songs of Bob Dylan", "Sings Good Ol' Folk Songs" and "Sings New Folk Song Classics") to folk music DJs.  The track list below is from that posting.  The same invalid contact address was given.
No one I have talked with has ever heard of the Dylan album...   so it will be a "mystery" until further info arises.

Hugues Aufray.Gold Music Story
CD: Barclay/Universal 537 757-2  (France)

FALSE TITLE: The latest reissue of   Aufray Chante Dylan  is being offered by some sellers under the title "Gold Music Story," the false title apparently coming from the sticker on the CD wrapper that reads "Universal Gold Music Story - Version Originale - Prix Mini"

FALSE TITLE/FALSE ARTIST: This import CD is widely listed under this title on-line, shown as by Blues Power, but it is exactly the same as the HOB Tangled Up In Blues CD.  The Spanish version has a "Made In Spain" and Distrimusic, S.A. UPC sticker on the back wrapper.  When you unwrap the CD, the stickers are gone, and eveything else is exactly the same as the common US CD,  including the US addresses.

Alec Guinness & Original Broadway CastDylan
LPx3: Columbia DOL 301  (US, 1963)

So maybe no one would mistake this 3-LP box-set of a Broadway play recording for a DYLAN COVER ALBUM,  but it does mention "Dylan" in the title!  1963 play about Dylan THOMAS starred Alec Guinness.

various artists"Dragon 32"
LP: Dragon DG-5032  (China)

This Chinese album is sometimes advertised as a "Dylan tribute,"  but other than the Dylan photo on the front and an ad for "Street Legal" on the back, this album has no Dylan content at all!  No Dylan...  no Dylan covers.  The actual contents of the album is a weird mix of 70's rock, country, and disco...  Rolling Stones, Crystal Gayle, Donna Summer and others.
