A story in the Guardian about the House of Commons vote on Brexit. The last sentence: "A hard Brexit was a-gonna fall."

Never been able to marry Dylan to Valentine's Day, but this ad says so much about our treasured man. Been to this bar, didn't expect it to have that photo in the backdrop:

Didn't expect anything Dylan related at the Grammy broadcast,
But saw a quick glimpse of this video for a song nominated in some category:

"Hewlett died on Monday morning while listening to Bob Dylan with his family at the Royal Marsden Hospital in west London."

Iggy Pop played These Foolish Things on his radio show on BBC 6! :D

Iggy waxed lyrical about Bob's singing and the band's instrumentation.

Episode 2 of the new show "The Handmaid's Tale" begins with the narrator telling us her thoughts about the color blue:

Blue. I let it take me.
Blue Moon.
Rhapsody in Blue.
Tangled Up in Blue.
Blue Oyster Cult.
Blue Monday.
Our car was that color.

In the new Guardians of the Galaxy game the first chapter is titled "Tangled Up in Blue".
I haven't finished the chapter yet, so I don't know if they actually play the Dylan song (although they do play other 70's stuff).

But I was surprised to see the title in this context.

used bookstore on sunday,
for 50¢ got a textbook from 1973 called
the inward journey
- eds. joseph f. doherty & william c. stephenson,
picked it up because of the interesting mix of works including
kafka, leroi jones, gene youngblood,
leonard cohen, ginsberg, herbert lomas,
laurens van der post, baba ram dass and much more
(no dylan though),
then this morning i read the introduction:
"... this anthology explores in twentieth-century literature some attempts to integrate the universe into an experience of totality....
this anthology focuses upon the more personal problem of the formulation and integration of ultimate beliefs. the expression "getting it all together" means exactly that: it makes little sense to continue scratching the wound of america's social conscience if one does not first attempt to come to terms with his own personal anguish. this is perhaps what bob dylan decided when he made the shift in the late 1960's from anti-establishment songs of protest to more personal expressions of inner frustration. this book, therefore, centers around the various inward and outward quests for holistic consciousness: it's concern is not just the experience of despair but, more important, exploration out of despair.....

"Someday Baby" is playing in the background near the end of this delightful video compilation!

I just saw the film Sorry to Bother You.
In one scene the female main character Detroit, an artist, wore earrings that said on the left side:
BURY
THE
RAG
and on the right side
DEEP
IN YOUR
FACE.

Really great dark comedy about (future) labour conditions. And this little detail made it even better.

I was in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London last week, when I stumbled across this in one of the display cases:

Mymooney, may I ask you to upload that link again? It's not working (at least not for me) and I'm going to the V&A museum next week, so I'd be really interested in this!

SiriusXM's Deep Tracks channel certainly lives up to its name!

Just heard "Dead Man, Dead Man" from Shot of Love.

One that sticks in my mind back in mid 80s Glasgow, there was an old bandstand beside the river Clyde. Beside it was an area frequented by unfortunate down and out guys who didn’t usually give anyone any bother part of the scenery really. One lunchtime I was taking a stroll and an impromptu band was giving a pretty good rendition of I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight. For some reason i’ll always remember one of the old vagabonds raising his can of Carlsberg Special and shouting “oooh Bobby Dylan where are you now!” And l guess it was a reasonable question.

I heard a busker singing "One More Cup of Coffee" today - I wonder if he was inspired by the Scorsese film?
