According to a Dylan insider who attended an event I was at in Tulsa this weekend, November will bring the Scorcese doc on Rolling Thunder and a new BS installment with BOT and RT material. He said it in a basically public setting so I'm sharing it here.

Huh, might rumorously “confirm” our current BS expectations.
I may repeat your quoted statement over in the When the Heck thread.

Great news but I sure hope there's space on the schedule for a new album from the great man himself.

Thanks to share but can you precise which event happened in Tulsa? Related to the archives?

Why november? I get that they wanna bogart the christmas presents but spare a thought for those of us who have spend X amount on presents for the family plus, what, $350 for the Bootleg release.

And was there any mention how the doc will be released? Was No Direction Home released world wide in cinemas or did it get released on dvd/blu-ray simultaneously?

No Direction Home was TV as I remember. Maybe a few select screens too.
The dvd was issued round about the same time.

The best possible news, other than maybe a new album of originals, Chronicles II, or a year-by-year Bootleg Series release covering the NET.

It was part of a Guthrie Center anniversary celebration.

I know, acronyms can be a Pain in the Arse.
I’m as guilty as the next person...
...let’s see if these can be deciphered for you:
BS = Bootleg Series
BOT = Blood on the Tracks, usually BOTT
RT = Rolling Thunder

Thank You. When there are too many acronyms it reminds me of an old SNL skit. That's Saturday Night Live.

It was an excellent era but there already is so much released from the 1974-76 time frame. Of course I'd like new material like the next guy, but there are great concerts from around the turn of the century.

Ha!
At least you asked - on my very first post back in 2007, I I mangled an abbreviation so badly that no one knew what I was talking about!

Grammar police:

In the interest of accuracy: BOT would be the only acronym, and only if it's pronounced as a word (rhymes with POT). The rest are just initials. For initials, or an abbreviation to be an acronym it must be pronounced as a word, even a made up word.

(sorry to call you out, but this has bugged me ever since I first learned the word. Everyone gets it wrong)

I'm actually not that excited. I'd be way more excited about Irish folk songs.

Don't we have all outtakes from this era already?

We had most of the gospel era before Trouble No More, including a decent quality video from Toronto, and I still thought it was a fantastic release.

Okay I'm taking your word for it. I'll try to be more excited.

Not to worry.
I’ll just add this to the list of reasons why I can’t stand Acronyms.
Thanks.

I hate them because I can rarely figure them out. Now I know TOOM is Time Out of Mind. How about Time...Mind as an alternative?

I wouldn't mind what came out on the Bootleg Series, but as with Volume 13 - Trouble No More - I just wish he would have played two or three songs from the set live. I would think the same if we had a RTR release!
