Delighted to announce that there is finally a Dylan Room at The Troubadour Club in London, a place to recognise a part of London musical history and a venue that formed an important chapter in early Dylan development. In July, the week that Dylan is in London, we will host a talk from Michael Gray and a set from The Dylan Band(a tribute band based in the UK). Details can be found on The Troubadour website. If in London...pop in!

Nice to see. And you are correct - the Bob Dylan early days in England were very important. And I would point out that some of the most literate, devoted Dylan fans reside in the British Isles. Their constant contributions here are nothing short of stunning. I started a thread here a few years ago regarding the case that European Dylan fans may appreciate Dylan more than American fans -

Launching very soon at The Dylan Room at The Troubadour will be Friday Dylan lunches. An opportunity to visit living music history(The Troubadour has barely changed since 1954 and Dylan would recognise where he played in 62!)and to learn the fascinating stories. If interested the Dylan In London group can be contacted at elmowood@hotmail.com

Absolutely magical evening with Michael Gray at The Troubadour. So wonderful to once again have the old place resonating to the sound of Dylan!

A really enjoyable evening - wonderful to imagine Dylan among those very walls, and listen to clips of concerts from Earls Court, which is only a short walk away. It was real treat to close my eyes and imagine being in the Festival Hall in May 1964 for that first performance of Chimes Of Freedom. A great night for any London-based Dylan fan.

So pleased that you enjoyed the evening. It is the first of many Dylan events that we intend to host as part of Dylan In London and a fabulous way to launch the new Dylan Room!

Needless to say the Troubadour name is an exclusive gene pool. The LA club has so many historic firsts and great shows, it probably has no equal. The list, of course, includes British saint Sir Elton John. Here's an amazing chronological list from that place -

Wonderful music history and opened in 1957 after the owner was inspired by a trip to the original Troubadour in London. The LA version is rightly lauded and we are delighted, with the opening of The Dylan Room, that the original is being recognised for it's place in music history
