That was exactly my thought. I think its air date got pushed back several times as ABC kept rejecting Dylan's ever more eclectic cuts. I imagine it was slated to be aired at some point in 1968?

That's a good observation. I'm not sure what might be in that tape box. It's too early for the Johnny Cash show and I don't believe the Woody Guthrie tribute show was filmed.

The original air date for "Eat the Document" on ABC-TV's "ABC Stage '67" show was 16 November 1966. A Tony Perkins musical called "Evening Primrose" aired in its place. In April 1967 ABC sued Dylan for non-delivery, effectively ending the chances of Eat the Document appearing on TV. 1968 seems to be too late under that timeline.

According to Bob's IMDb, he only has two different credits for 1968. He's credited as "Composer" for a Bee Gees TV Special that aired in Germany on December 11, 1968 called Idea. He's also credited as "Performer" in something called Handicap which appears to be an unaired "TV Short" starring Barbara Steele. I've never heard of either of these and there's no details as to Bob's input. Is it possible he recorded (or just used previously recorded) instrumental pieces for either of these?

The Bee Gees Tv show also featured Brian Auger. He performed "Wheel's on Fire". And that is how Bob suddenly got connected to this event.

I guess it's a similar thing with this Barbara Steele show.

It'd be awesome if the Woody Guthrie show was actually filmed... but unlikely.

Bob didn’t play at this, only the 1968 memorial which was unfortunately not filmed (as far as we know).

^According to Bjorner it was actually on February 21 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in LA for Asylum Records Founder David Geffen's thirty-first birthday party. No tape exists from this.

That's it David geffen. I was thinking David zimmerman .

Wow great pic pauley, thank you, I had no idea this event had occurred. But oh come one someone must have videoed this, who doesn't video birthday parties :D

I read yesterday, after good old googling it, that Cher also began singing all I really wanna do, I'm not sure if our Bob shared vocals.
