On Sirius/XM, they have Jakob playing “his favorite 45’s. Not that I really buy that. But in the breaks, the station refers to him as “Bob Dylan’s son Jakob”. Seems really insulting.

And they'd have him on if he wasn't?

These things aren't mutually exclusive. He is certainly Bob's son, and my guess is he's OK w/ that leading his bio. But "that '90s hit"? Come on, give Jakob some credit. He's written a lot of great songs. And I'm looking forward to seeing his new documentary.

I imagine it's difficult to be the son of a meistro , in terms of making it in the same business. Arlo almost had it if weren't for Bob swooping in and writing all those songs. I would do something...similar like hiring an ensemble to back me in karaoake.

Like norwegian show host Skavlan calling his guest Joan Baez ’the only person who’s seen Bob Dylan and Steve Jobs naked’....

I don't see it as insulting, it is based on ratings, though. How many famous Jakob's are out there?

There's only one Bob.

Anyway, what irks me is when they refer to Dylan as Jakob, or some other Dylan. To me, it is confusing and maybe even insulting. When someone mentions Dylan by last name, who thinks of Sam, or Jakob, or Pablo?
Not me.

Jakob is "Dylan Lite". Great taste, but less filling.
