Thought I'd share this with everyone. It's a beautiful concert that doesn't get enough attention, in my opinion. It also has the debut of "Talkin' World War III Blues." I believe it may be the earliest known concert of him playing all original material as well. Hope you enjoy it :)

You may be right, although it's only 7 songs so it's hard to compare it as a full "concert" when only 13 days before he played at Town Hall and did 24 songs (with only 3 that weren't originals). Also, according to Bjorner, World War III was debuted four nights before this in Cambridge on April 21, but there doesn't seem to be a recording of it. All that being said, I do agree that it's a pretty solid performance from early Bob!

That's true. It's more of just a trivial fact. And thanks for that info! I'll have to change it to "earliest live recording" or something. I go off of Dylan's website. Have to start consulting Bjorner.

Is this the only concert he did only his own songs? I don't count appearances where he did less than 7 songs

All of his 1965 UK concerts were completely his material. Most of his 1964 concerts were as well. According to Dylan's website, this was the first setlist to have solely original material.

Dylan's website is about as accurate as Chronicles.

We don't know because this is only a partial set. Maybe he did Highway 51 or Honey Just allow me or Corrina Corrina. Maybe he didn't.

Dominic Behan didn't think so.

But anyway, isn't Honey Just Allow Me by Henry Thomas? That was performed at the Bear Club.

Oh, wow. You're dead on. I always thought that was Dylan's! Thanks, I'll have to change that.
