Incredible article that covers a lot of interesting aspects of Dylans songwriting process based on findings in his notebooks from when he was working on Blood On The Tracks.

So interesting to get these insights.

Right, from a quick glance it’s very telling on levels unknown

Ordered this magazine back in November, I’ve since given it away. It had some cool points to it that Clinton Heylin wasn’t capable of understanding.

I read this article earlier today and was blown away by it. I wonder if Bob’s process was similar on other albums or not. The fact that Idiot Wind’s lyrics kept slipping into the other songs and he was able to keep them all straight is pretty incredible. From the look of those notes, it seemed like he was all over the place as he sorted through Blood on the Tracks.

I read a similar story about the song lyrics of Time out of mind and hints in this direction about other albums from the sixties trilogy up to Love & theft so I think it’s not a very riski bet to assume this is the way he works most of the time.
